Your ‘day to day’: 

  • Ensure continuous and safe operation of utilities (electricity, gas, steam, water, compressed air) through effective team and contractor coordination, aligned with CBN.
  • Plan, organize, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure uninterrupted production and cost-efficient utility delivery.
  • Monitor energy processes to optimize consumption and minimize operational costs.
  • Guarantee timely execution and reporting of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) activities.
  • Ensure full compliance with PMI Sustainability policies, ISO standards (9001, 14001, 18001), QMS, AWS, and legal regulations.
  • Coordinate energy inspections with state authorities and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Enforce safety and environmental standards for all technical operations and contractors.
  • Track and improve performance on water use, emissions, wastewater discharge, and environmental projects.
  • Oversee proper utilities operation to maintain high-quality standards and comply with PMI and legal requirements.
  • Initiate and implement system upgrades or modifications to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and ensure all work complies with technical norms and quality standards.
  • Support utilities-related projects by preparing technical data and ensuring cross-functional coordination.
  • Research and implement new technologies for utility efficiency and sustainability.
  • Upgrade and maintain Building Management Systems (BMS); ensure emergency utility systems are tested and functional.
  • Drive energy-saving initiatives, monitor KPIs, and implement cost-reduction measures (EPI).
  • Develop and update energy processes, analyze performance data, and ensure alignment with environmental goals and legal standards.
  • Conduct failure mode analyses and lead corrective actions for utility-related breakdowns.
  • Manage internal and outsourced personnel; ensure adherence to standards, training requirements, and performance expectations.
  • Ensure contractors follow OPEN+ standards via regular drumbeats and performance evaluations.
  • Approve and monitor work requests and resource use to align with safety and productivity goals.
  • Analyze utilities operation and maintenance costs for accurate budgeting (annual and LRP).
  • Track and report consumption (energy, electricity, gas, water, etc.) and maintenance costs monthly.
  • Propose and implement cost-optimization initiatives, ensuring a balance of cost, service, quality, and safety.
  • Maintain standardization of utility systems; enforce centralized change management procedures and proper qualification for any design changes.
  • Communicate priorities and plans to support loss elimination and cross-functional alignment.
  • Foster continuous improvement by sharing methods, promoting benchmarking, and supporting team development.

 

Who we’re looking for: 

  • MUST BE: Local to Wilson, NC
  • MUST BE: Legally Authorized to work in the US
  • REQUIRED: Degree in Engineering
  • 2+ years experience in Engineering, industrial environment, facilities management or utilities operations
  • Practical experience in asset management, contractors management, electrical systems & utilities equipment
  • IM, AM, PM, FI, WPI knowledge
  • Strong excel skills
  • AutoCAD
  • MS Project
  • Safety Management
