The Sr Legal Analyst will be responsible for assisting attorneys in all aspects of law support for a growing External Affairs team in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include providing support on external activities, including, but not limited to, legislative matters, lobbying compliance, political activities, third-party engagements, basic legal research and case tracking. Responsible for performing a variety of moderately complex projects to support the Legal & Compliance Department business professionals on a wide range of legal functions.

 

 

Your ‘day to day’:

 

  • Track federal and state/local legislation and collect and organize documents related to legislative history and in support of federal and state/local lobbying activities. 
  • Assist in federal and state/local lobbying registration and reporting compliance, including lobbying expenditures and reporting of gifts to government officials.
  • Support grassroots lobbying activations and ballot initiative campaigns.
  • Help manage review and approval of corporate political contributions, donations to non-profit partners, and political action committee (PAC) contributions and related PAC activities.
  • Conduct basic legal research and track federal and state cases as needed.
  • Collaborate with all members of the External Affairs team and members of the U.S. Legal & Compliance Department.
  • Undertake special projects and assignments and perform other administrative duties as requested. Work closely with supervisor and/or business partners on given projects.
  • Assist in setting, and managing, budgets for the Law Department. Support payments and recurring administrative procedures.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

 

 


 

Who we’re looking for:

 

  • Professional experience working in a Legal environment. Paralegal training preferred.
  • An Associates or Bachelor’s degree, with a minimum of five years’ experience in a law firm or corporate law department.
  • Experience working for a member of congress or a congressional committee or for a political law compliance firm is desired.
  • Must be able to write well, analyze, and think critically.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage time and tasks effectively.
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • High energy, drive and unquestioned integrity.
  • Must be able to operate in a dynamic, high stress environment with a demonstrated ability to handle crisis and meet deadlines.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US

 

Annual Base Salary Range: $99,000-$132,000
