About the Role 

The Solution Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining logistics solutions within the SAP and extended platform landscape. The role focuses on identifying and analyzing business needs, translating business requirements into application requirements, and providing technical advice and consultation on complex logistics applications. The IT Solution Expert drives continuous improvement of business processes through new technology or alternative uses of existing technology.

 

 

Your ‘day to day’:

  • Lead the design of end-to-end Order-to-Cash (O2C) solutions across B2C business processes, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain solution outlines, architecture designs, interface specifications, and technical roadmaps for O2C capabilities and related commerce platforms.
  • Translate business requirements into solution architectures leveraging SAP S/4HANA, SAP CAR, and surrounding commerce ecosystems. Collaborate closely with Domain Architects, Enterprise Architects, Product Teams, and Engineering Teams to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards, target architectures, and strategic initiatives.

  • Design and govern integrations across SAP and non-SAP platforms, including SAP Hybris, Avalara, Microsoft Dynamics, payment providers, 3PL partners, CRM, and customer experience platforms.
  • Drive architecture decisions for key O2C capabilities including order management, pricing, taxation, fulfillment, inventory visibility, customer service, returns, refunds, reconciliation, and financial integration.
  • Define architecture patterns and integration approaches using APIs, event-driven architecture, SAP BTP, Integration Suite, middleware, and cloud-native services.
  • Identify architectural risks, technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and security concerns, recommending mitigation plans and continuous improvements.
  • Provide technical leadership during project delivery, ensuring solutions are implemented according to approved designs and industry best practices.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and retail commerce innovations, recommending 

 

Key Skills:

  • Strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA Order-to-Cash processes, including Sales & Distribution, Billing, Pricing, Customer Master, Credit Management, and Financial Integration.
  • Deep knowledge of SAP Customer Activity Repository (CAR) and its role within omnichannel retail and consumer commerce ecosystems.
  • Proven experience designing solutions for B2C, D2C, omnichannel commerce, and consumer order fulfillment processes.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. business processes and regulatory requirements, including sales tax, consumer sales, retail operations, and commercial fulfillment.
  • Experience integrating SAP with modern commerce and customer platforms, particularly Shopify, Microsoft Dynamics 365, CRM platforms, payment gateways, and logistics providers.
  • Expertise with integration technologies including REST APIs, OData, SAP BTP, SAP Integration Suite, Event-Driven Architecture, Middleware, and EDI.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-based architectures, microservices, security principles, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • 8+ years of experience in SAP solution architecture, enterprise application architecture, or digital commerce solution design.
  • 5+ years of experience architecting Order-to-Cash and customer-facing commerce solutions in B2C, D2C, retail, or consumer products environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale SAP transformation, digital commerce, or omnichannel initiatives.
  • Experience working in complex, highly integrated enterprise environments with multiple platforms and vendors.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or related field.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

    • SAP S/4HANA Solution Architecture
    • SAP CAR
    • SAP Integration Suite / SAP BTP
    • TOGAF, SAFe Architect, or equivalent architecture certification

 

Annual Base Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000
