Your ‘day to day’:
This role’s responsibilities include supporting the Trade Marketing and Commercial team in (1) developing periodic forecasts, annual plans, and long-range plans focused on trade marketing and promotional activities, (2) analyzing trade and commercial spend and developing a narrative for forecast variances, (3) supporting the implementation of trade strategic initiatives for improved efficiency and productivity and (4) supporting the Business Partner for Sales/Trade in scenario modeling, ad‑hoc analyses, and continuous improvement of reporting processes, data governance, and automation.
- Partner with trade/sales teams to produce monthly promotional spend forecasts across multiple brands and cost drivers, and clearly communicate assumptions.
- Oversee promotional and allowance-tracking results and support monthly posting of commercial activity impacts (e.g., trade allowances, tax adjustments, accruals, rebates, etc.).
- Perform variance analysis comparing actual results versus projections, clearly identifying drivers and explaining deviations.
- Support development of monthly net working capital projections to support cash flow management.
- Collaborate effectively with related functions including Sales, Marketing, Tax, Internal Controls and Operations.
- Build strong business, systems, and U.S. supply chain knowledge—including distribution and state tax impacts—while maintaining compliance with key company policies and governance.
- Support internal, external, and Sarbanes‑Oxley audit requests throughout the year, with a focus on interim and year‑end activities.
Who we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business with concentration in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or similar preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in Trade Finance, FP&A, Finance, Business Planning, or closely related analytical roles in the CPG industry.
- Proven experience in management reporting, including preparation of performance decks and variance narratives.
- Hands‑on experience with forecasting, budgeting, and scenario modeling in support of commercial business partners.
- Experience working with market data analytics, including validation, driver analysis, and risk/opportunity identification.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with cross‑functional teams.
- Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into clear insights.
- Solid understanding of forecasting, budgeting, scenario modeling, and variance analysis.
- Ability to identify risks, opportunities, and structural trends, and articulate their business impact.
- High standards for data accuracy, governance, and process compliance.
- Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Continuous‑improvement mindset, driving automation, efficiency, and reporting enhancements.
- Comfort operating in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with MS-suite including Excel and PowerPoint and Power BI.
- Fluency with AI-based applications as a productivity/efficiency work tool
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Annual Base Salary Range: $88,000 - $110,000
