As a Labor Relations Executive, you will be responsible for providing exclusive support and adhoc leadership to implement ER/LR policies, procedures, and processes. You will be maintaining touchpoints with labor authorities on matters pertaining to labor legislations, prevailing union and management practices, third party workforce, and employee welfare programs. You will have an impact for creating an environment for proactive, constructive, and results-oriented collaboration between management, employees, and their representatives.
Job Responsibilities
You will:
- Oversee the end-to-end management of ER/disciplinary cases, ensuring the consistent execution across all stages - from data gathering and documentation to the complete digital recording of all relevant files.
- Play an active role in executing the agreed actions and measures outlined in the Labor Relations strategy for the affiliate.
- Drive impactful collaboration with the Manager LR and P&C Business Partners to evaluate and enhance internal practices related to labor laws, third-party workforce management, and employee welfare initiatives, ensuring alignment with local labor authority requirements and PMI’s commitments to human rights and sustainability.
- Provide tactical and communication support during meetings with union representatives to effectively negotiate and convey the agreed objectives of the employee relations plan. Support the Manager LR in documenting new CLA agreements and implementing necessary updates driven by legal or business requirements. In collaboration with Legal department, monitor developments in local labor legislation and jurisdiction, proactively assess potential impacts, and ensure timely, relevant communication to key internal stakeholders (KIS).
- Enhance the ER/LR capabilities of KIS (P&C business partners, function line managers) by collaborating with the Manager LR to deliver targeted knowledge transfer sessions and capability building workshops. Champion employee listening, engagement & dialogue sessions with labor union and ER groups to cultivate meaning, collaborative, and results-driven partnerships.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 5-8 years HR experience in Employee/Labor Relations and/or generalist roles
- Experience in employee relations/disciplinary case management, partnering with employee representatives and labor authorities
- Solid understanding and knowledge of labor laws, with practical application of it. Familiarity with sustainability goals is an advantage
- Results driven mindset with strong abilities to work in a cross-functional setting, with multiple internal and external stakeholder
- Good process orientation and communication skills.
