About the Future in Progress: Future Leaders program 

Our 36-month program is designed for bold thinkers and ambitious professionals ready to experiment, introduce new ideas, and lead change that spans borders. Through two high-impact rotations, you’ll create transformative solutions while learning from some of the brightest minds in the industry. As you progress, you’ll build strong connections with senior leadership and a vibrant alumni community, all committed to accelerating your development and amplifying your influence. 

 

Your leadership journey 

Your experience is designed as a progression, starting with mastering your home market and culminating in a truly international assignment. 

 

  1. Home market immersion  

  • Gain business fluency: Dive into Swedish Match's home market operations for a comprehensive understanding of our commercial landscape, ongoing transformation efforts, and key priorities. 

  • Shape outcomes across functions: Work in partnership with diverse teams to address regional opportunities, developing approaches that drive progress. 

  • Establish your leadership foundation: Own significant projects, sharpening your decision-making and stakeholder engagement skills.  

 

  1. International Assignment 

  • Develop cultural agility & a global mindset: Lead in a new market as you navigate local practices and regulatory environments, expanding your view as a leader across markets.

Who Can Apply? 

We’re searching for accomplished, forward-thinking professionals who thrive in complexity, take ownership, and are eager to shape the future. To be eligible for the Future in Progress: Future Leaders Program, you should be a forward‑thinking professional who thrives in complex environments. 

 

  • A master’s degree in business, business administration, economics, or a related field (MBA preferable). 

  • No less than 6 years of post-graduation professional experience in a global organization, with exposure to diverse markets and stakeholders. 

  • Proficiency in English and the local language of the country where you’re applying. 

  • Legal right to work in Europe and in the country of application (without sponsorship). 

  • Willingness and ability to relocate internationally during the program. 

  • Only cvs / resume submitted in English will be considered. 

 

You bring strong commercial awareness and the ability to translate business insights into sound decision‑making. You think strategically and are comfortable navigating and solving complex challenges, even in fast‑changing environments. With agility and resilience, you take initiative to drive progress, challenge the status quo, and put forward bold ideas. You also communicate clearly and effectively, working collaboratively across functions to achieve shared goals. 

 

Program Details 

  • Start Date: 1 September - 1 October 2026 

  • Duration: The Future Leader program runs for 36 months and is offered as part of a permanent position at Swedish Match.
