To safeguard the company’s business objectives, ensure its delivery against strategic opportunities, and protect the company against emerging uncertainties, a highly professional and industry-leading risk management and internal controls practice is required.

 

The US Internal Controls function within PMI maintains close business partnerships with US management and business process stakeholders, global functions and internal/external audit, acting as an advisor assisting management with their responsibility to design, implement and maintain a robust internal controls framework and to stay in sync with internal policies & procedures, through advisory and control localization activities, and ensuring that the GRC application (OneGRC) is continuously updated with high quality data-points.

 

As a Senior Lead Internal Controls for the US, you will have the responsibility to:

  • Enable US stakeholders with risk-based decision making by collaborating across all lines in PMI's Three Lines Model (First Line: Business Functions, Second Line: Advisory Practices, and Third Line: Risk & Assurance) to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Lead the deployment of assigned advisories / business support activities on the design, implementation and continuous improvement of business process controls in line with best practices and ICFR methodology (if financially reporting relevant).
  • Report issues and/or recommendations/observations identified including review of the action plan, issue evaluation, etc. Assist business stakeholders on the remediation of issues raised by supporting the design of action plans and/or design of respective control activities.
  • Support other US market projects that impact business process risk and controls (i.e. fraud / theft analysis and reporting, policy/standard exceptions/deviations, OneUS initiatives etc.)

 

Who we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration etc.
  • Professional Certification/Education – examples: Graduate Certificate Program, Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Executive Master Internal/Operational Auditor (EMIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Governance Risk Compliance Professional (GRCP) Certification, etc.
  • 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following: Accounting, Finance, Controllership, Internal Controls, Audit, Risk Management
  • Relevant experience in one or more of the following:
    • ‘Big Four’ and/or other public accounting/audit/ consulting
    • Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMGC)
    • Business-to-Business (B2B) / Business-to-Consumer (B2C)
    • Business Process Cycles (Record To Report - R2R / Lead To Cash - L2C / Source To Pay - S2P / Manufacture To Inventory - M2I etc.)
    • Internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) / Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
    • Digitization and transformation projects
  • Confident MS Office user: Fluency in Excel, PowerPoint, Oulook etc.
  • Experience with SAP, Dynfo or other ERP software
  • Effective communication and presentation skills (fluent written and verbal English language skills)
  • Self-Starter: Curious mindset and positive attitude
  • Relationship Building: Build upon existing relationships with key stakeholders and develop new ones
  • Change Architect: Take action and guide in times of ambiguity; highly developed problem-solving skills
  • Project Management: Drive, structure, oversee or support key projects and embed new ways of working
  •  Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

 

Annual Base Salary Range: $105,000 - $145,000
