Your ‘day to day’

You will be employed under Philip Morris Electronics Shenzhen (PMES). PMES operates as a subsidiary of Philip Morris International, Inc, As a domain expert in Manufacturing Testing, you will be responsible for the development and sustaining of NPI manufacturing test systems, ensuring solutions are ready for high-volume production. You will drive all technical and operational issues related to Manufacturing Test systems to ensure effective closure of all issues, enabling the success of the entire new product introduction cycle and its transition into the mass production phase.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for delivering outstanding manufacturing testing methods and equipment, working with multi-functional NPI teams, R&D, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to ensure technical readiness of the production lines.
  • Standardize the test strategy across different product categories, technologies, and suppliers to ensure high product quality and manufacturing consistency.
  • Engage early in product and technology development. Collaborate with R&D teams to develop measurement systems, test equipment, and derive test requirement specifications for module and product levels.
  • Take ownership of manufacturing test system development and equipment designs, including requirements, concept generation, detailed design, analysis and verification testing, multi-functional reviews, and production release.
  • Review and challenge technical solutions from internal and external suppliers. Propose optimized hardware and firmware solutions.
  • Act as a technical leader to coordinate yield, cost, and quality improvement activities with multi-functional teams and suppliers. Drive failure analysis, corrective action implementation plans from engineering build to end of production, and apply the learning to the next generation product.
  • Ensure high-quality specifications/documentation and provide support to internal and suppliers' Engineering Operations teams.

 

Who we’re looking for

  • A university degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Science or equivalent is required
  • Solid relevant work experience as a Lead/Principal Engineer or similar position. Deep understanding of manufacturing testing and measurement systems with a strong system engineering approach, working with R&D and engineering teams to deliver advanced test manufacturing solutions for high-volume production in consumer electronic products (PCBA and FATP).
  • Experienced in the design and testing of PCBA and HW, both analog and digital, sensor technology and vision systems, product traceability and security, automated product testing, equipment validation, and buy-off.
  • Sound knowledge in test firmware development. Ability to conduct code reviews and audits of supplier FW development processes. Good knowledge in Labview, TestStand, and C/C++. Knowledge in Python and other relevant programming or scripting languages will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge in test method development and implementation into production test processes. Integration, box-build, test equipment, jigs and fixtures for manufacturing. In-depth understanding of product FW and HW design and processes. Fundamentals of general IT network infrastructure.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent priorities across different manufacturing sites and suppliers.
  • Strong leadership to drive supplier’s engineering teams.
  • Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to report at all levels of the organization. Produce high-standard documentation and reports. Proficiency in English is a must; Chinese speaking and writing skills are a huge plus.
