Your ‘day to day’

You will be employed under Philip Morris Electronics Shenzhen (PMES). PMES operates as a subsidiary of Philip Morris International, Inc.

As the Senior Engineer, Firmware Algorithm Development, you will craft and optimize brand new algorithms for wireless connectivity consumer devices. You will take the lead in the entire process from design and simulation to optimization and implementation. You'll work with digital signal processing, classical control theory, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques to create innovative solutions tailored on our consumers’ needs. Your expertise will ensure our algorithms meet the processing power and memory constraints of embedded systems, bringing your designs to life on target platforms.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Be the subject matter expert in algorithm design, leading the end-to-end process from design and simulation to optimization and implementation.
  • Analyze statistical data to understand user and device behavior, and derive predictive models.
  • Capture and simulate the operating theory of controlled subsystems under various conditions, including system breakdowns.
  • Continuously improve and fine-tune models and algorithms to enhance system performance.
  • Ensure real-time implementation aligns with simulation results, optimizing system behavior in practical applications.
  • Maintain development processes to ensure quality and traceability of deliverables.
  • Anticipate risks and implement mitigation plans during the design stage.
  • Ensure practical application of developed algorithms/models through real-time implementation.

 

Who we are looking for:

  • University degree or equivalent experience (MSc, MPhil, or PhD) in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong background in digital signal processing, control theory, statistical analysis, and machine learning.
  • 5+ years in algorithm design, statistical modeling, simulation, optimization, and implementation in embedded systems.
  • Proven ability to develop scalable algorithms/models for real-time applications across systems with varying processing power and memory budgets.
  • Effective stakeholder management and teamwork skills to ensure timely, high-quality product delivery.
  • Logical mindset, self-motivated, and a can-do attitude, with a passion for continuous learning and growth.
  • Strong communication and presentation in English
