Your ‘day to day’

 

You will work as a 12 months’ fixed term contractor to support Philip Morris Electronics (Shenzhen). PMES operates as a subsidiary of Philip Morris International, Inc. in Shenzhen. You may be required to be engaged by a 3rd party service provider to be assigned to work at PMES. You will carry out Firmware architecture design and development for wireless connectivity & battery powered medical-grade consumer electronic devices; To carry out system integration and debugging according the product life cycle to ensure product launch on time with good quality.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the device firmware architecture design for different product platforms and to ensure maximum reuse across the platforms, so as to increase design / debug efficiency. To consider end-to-end from mobile app to cloud and to device, to ensure the design is optimal and secure. To identify potential risks and implement the mitigation plans at the design stage.
  • Implement component software which would be used across multiple platforms and products.
  • Support the system integration and debug activities for new products and features.
  • Ensure quality and traceability to all software development deliverables.
  •  Write efficient and reliable unit tests(gtest/gmock) to fully assess product.
  • Ensure quality documentation for all the designs, test plans and test results, according to the configuration management plan.

 

 

Who we’re looking for

  • Bachelor degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • At least 5+ years of related software development experience for engineers, in consumer electronics, automotive industry, medical devices.
  • Familiar with programming languages such as C, C++, python etc.
  • Solid experience in embedded software development with RTOS.
  • Solid experience in FW development for MCUs (e.g. ST, NxP, etc.) or wireless connectivity SoC (e.g. ST, Realtek, MTK, NxP, etc.)
  • Expertise in at least one of the following areas:
    • Embedded software architecture and design: To optimize the system resources and current drain.
    • Wireless connectivity modem and SoC (WiFi and BLE): To integrate the wireless connectivity stack software and design the application software to ensure good user experience.
  • Able to extract meaningful information from component datasheet and read hardware schematic.
  • Aware of serial communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C and USB
  • Experience with Git or similar software version control system.
  • Familiar with unit tests(gtest/gmock) design
  • Good problem-solving abilities and analytical mind.
  • Proficient in verbal and written English with effective communication skills.
