Data Governance and Management at PMI plays a critical role in building trusted, reliable, and accessible data foundations for the business. By implementing global standards, strengthening data quality, and ensuring appropriate confidentiality and access controls, this role helps enable better decision-making across functions and supports PMI’s ongoing transformation.

Purpose

The Manager Data Governance is responsible for deploying, maintaining, and continuously improving robust data governance processes across the organization.

You will ensure data integrity, quality, and accessibility by implementing global standards, managing data confidentiality and access controls, and driving practical solutions that improve data reliability in the market.

You will collaborate closely with data owners, business stakeholders, analytics teams, data engineers, data scientists, and IT partners to identify issues, orchestrate solutions, and embed governance policies into data pipelines, models, and business processes.

This role requires hands-on delivery, strong problem-solving capability, and the ability to translate governance standards into tangible outcomes that strengthen data quality, compliance, and business trust in data.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement data governance policies, processes, and standards in line with global requirements
  • Manage and strengthen data confidentiality, access controls, and compliance practices
  • Collaborate with data owners and stakeholders to ensure data quality, compliance, and accountability
  • Lead local data governance initiatives and projects aligned with business objectives and company policies
  • Monitor and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and standards across relevant business areas
  • Conduct data quality assessments and audits to ensure reliable and high-quality market data
  • Identify, solve, and execute practical solutions to improve data reliability and quality
  • Work with data engineers, data scientists, business teams, analytics teams, and IT stakeholders to integrate governance policies into data pipelines and models
  • Provide training and support to staff on data governance best practices
  • Utilize technologies such as Snowflake, Atlan, and LeanIX to manage and govern data, and report data governance metrics and KPIs to senior management

Qualifications (Technical Skills)

  • Strong understanding of data governance principles and frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK, ISO/IEC 38500, NIST AI RMF, and NIST RDaaF
  • Hands-on experience implementing solutions, rules, and processes to enhance data quality
  • Proficiency in data management and governance tools such as Atlan and LeanIX
  • Experience with data quality management, data audits, and governance reporting
  • Experience with data visualization tools to monitor and report data governance metrics

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • B.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in data management, data governance, or a similar role
  • Certification in data governance or data management, such as DAMA or CDMP
  • Experience with data management tools and cloud data platforms
  • Familiarity with machine learning and AI applications in data governance
  • Strong project management skills

  • Ability to lead and manage data governance projects across functions
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with business, analytics, and IT stakeholders to orchestrate data governance efforts
  • High attention to detail with the ability to balance governance discipline and business agility
  • Proficient in Korean and English, both verbal and written
  • Positive mindset with a ‘can-do’ spirit
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-moving organization
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
