Your Day-to-Day
You will be employed in Hong Kong under Philip Morris Travel Retail Hong Kong Limited (PMTR), a subsidiary of Philip Morris International.
As part of PMI Global Travel Retail (GTR), you will support business expansion and innovation across Asia through in-depth analysis of growth opportunities, effective portfolio planning, and commercial initiatives to ensure timely execution and sustainable business results.
1. Business Analysis
a. Responsible for competitive analysis across Asia, including channel and account investments, organizational structures, portfolio positioning, and pricing activities.
b. Responsible for consumer trend analysis across Asia.
c. Responsible for channel analysis, including segment and portfolio performance trends across different geographies.
d. Analyze total channel business value and the contribution of PMI Global Travel Retail (GTR) and other Trade Marketing stakeholders.
e. Responsible for industry analysis, including:
- Multi-category trend monitoring
- Account-level financial, P&L, and performance analysis
- Follow-up on regional and global duty-free association activities
- Monitoring regulatory developments and market dynamics
2. Portfolio Planning
a. Collect and consolidate portfolio initiatives as part of an integrated Portfolio Plan aligned with annual volume, share of market, and profitability objectives.
b. In selected cases and with approval from Headquarters Strategy & Portfolio, support local portfolio projects such as limited editions, line extensions, and other portfolio innovations.
c. Support Customer Development teams with location-based segment assessments (e.g., price, taste, diameter, format) and development of local and tactical portfolio initiatives.
d. Build project plans for portfolio activities by location, including implementation timelines, execution milestones, and post-launch evaluations.
3. Commercial Planning
a. Develop a calendar of commercial initiatives for the Business Unit based on PMI Global Travel Retail's global commercial calendar and local business priorities.
b. Monitor net operating revenue drivers, including volume, price, and mix performance, as well as progress against agreed trade terms for key accounts.
c. Conduct post-activity evaluations and return-on-investment assessments.
d. Manage commercial budgets for Asia in collaboration with local partners and Headquarters.
e. Support the Head of Commercial Planning:
- Build activity calendars by location, tailoring global initiatives to local market conditions
- Define scope and requirements for local commercial initiatives
- Develop business cases for commercial initiatives
f. Ensure accurate budget tracking and closure, providing necessary information to Finance to support the accrual process.
4. Project Management
a. Train Business Unit teams on project management methodologies and best practices, ensuring projects are managed consistently and effectively using approved tools and frameworks.
b. Track project delivery, prepare progress reports, and provide recommendations to the Head of Commercial Planning.
Who We're Looking For
- University degree in a quantitative discipline such as Science, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of combined experience across Trade Marketing, Business Development, Commercial Planning, Strategy, or Consulting within a multinational FMCG or consulting environment.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Strong business acumen, critical thinking, financial analysis, and project management capabilities.
- Proven understanding of key marketing and commercial competencies, including activity planning, portfolio management, and product strategy.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple functions and manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
