About the Role
As a Senior Inventory Controls Specialist, you will lead inventory control excellence across the assigned business scope, serving as a trusted subject matter expert and strategic partner to Operations, Warehouse, Logistics, Production, and Finance teams. You will be accountable for ensuring inventory accuracy, strengthening internal controls, supporting audit readiness, and driving continuous improvements across inventory-related processes and systems.
In this highly visible role, you will leverage your analytical expertise and inventory management knowledge to resolve complex discrepancies, identify process optimization opportunities, and provide recommendations that improve operational performance. You will play a key role in influencing cross-functional decision-making while driving inventory integrity, compliance, and standardization across the organization.
Your 'day to day':
- Own end-to-end inventory validation, cycle count, annual count verification, reconciliation, and evidence-retention processes for the assigned scope.
- Lead analysis of complex inventory discrepancies across physical stock, Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), transaction records, and supporting financial data, driving root-cause resolution and corrective actions.
- Review work and provide technical guidance to colleagues involved in inventory counts, reconciliations, and documentation activities.
- Coordinate cross-functional action plans with Warehouse, Logistics, Production, Operations Finance, and other stakeholders to resolve inventory and control-related issues.
- Lead internal and external audit support activities, explain control execution, and ensure timely closure of audit requests, evidence submissions, and identified gaps.
- Assess inventory movements, adjustments, and segregation-of-duties or access-related risks while recommending appropriate corrective controls.
- Design and implement improvements to inventory reporting, reconciliation methodologies, documentation standards, and D365-enabled workflows.
- Lead inventory projects or key workstreams within larger initiatives while effectively managing stakeholder expectations.
- Develop management-ready inventory analytics, trend assessments, and recommendations that support operational decision-making and inventory accuracy.
- Serve as a trusted subject matter resource for inventory control procedures, audit readiness, and warehouse-finance process integration.

Who we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in inventory control, inventory accounting, warehouse operations, supply chain, manufacturing, or a related operational finance environment.
- Demonstrated experience with inventory reconciliations, cycle counting programs, variance analysis, and inventory governance processes.
- Strong knowledge of internal controls, audit readiness requirements, documentation standards, and segregation-of-duties principles.
- Experience conducting root-cause analysis and implementing sustainable corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy.
- Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across Operations, Manufacturing, Warehousing, Logistics, and Finance.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business recommendations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation activities.
- Experience working with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and inventory management platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
What's nice to have:
- Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
- Experience supporting SOX-controlled environments and internal or external audit activities.
- Experience within manufacturing, consumer packaged goods (CPG), distribution, logistics, or supply chain environment.
- Experience leading inventory-related process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, or operational excellence projects.
- Knowledge of inventory analytics, reporting tools, and inventory optimization best practices.
- Professional certifications related to Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Accounting, or Internal Controls.
Annual Base Salary Range: $104,000 - $130,000
