The Sanitation Senior Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all facility sanitation activities to ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, and company standards. This role manages contract cleaning crew supervisors, coordinates day shift sanitation resources, and maintains sanitation chemical and supply inventory levels to support safe, efficient operations.  

 

Your ‘day to day’

 

Leadership & Team Management

 

  • Lead and support sanitation supervisors and contract cleaning teams to ensure effective execution of sanitation programs.
  • Build strong partnerships with third-party sanitation providers and drive team accountability and performance.
  • Conduct routine audits and inspections to verify sanitation standards are consistently met.

 

Sanitation Operations

 

  • Oversee daily sanitation activities to ensure compliance with food safety requirements, SOPs, and SSOPs.
  • Coordinate sanitation schedules with production to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within sanitation processes.
  • Ensure proper use of sanitation chemicals, equipment, and cleaning systems.

 

Inventory & Resource Management

 

  • Oversee inventory levels of sanitation chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
  • Manage or monitor ordering, storage, and utilization to ensure adequate resources while controlling costs.
  • Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage practices in compliance with safety and environmental standards.

 

Compliance, Safety & Reporting

 

  • Maintain compliance with FDA, USDA, OSHA, and internal food safety programs.
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through training and enforcement of safe work practices, chemical handling, and PPE requirements.
  • Track sanitation KPIs, maintain documentation, analyze performance trends, and communicate results and improvement plans to plant leadership.

 

Who we’re looking for:

 

    • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Environmental Health, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
    • 3+ years of sanitation leadership experience in a manufacturing or food production environment
    • Experience leading supervisors, employees, and contract labor teams
    • Strong knowledge of GMPs, SSOPs, HACCP, and regulatory compliance requirements
    • Proven leadership, planning, and organizational skills
    • Experience with sanitation systems, chemicals, and equipment
    • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on food safety, quality, and compliance
    • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on driving operational excellence and team performance



Annual Base Salary Range: $88,000 - $110,000
