This position sits with our Swedish Match affiliate.

The Mechanic Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing packaging machinery and related equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical and electrical background along with experience in an industrial setting.

Day to Day

• Perform routine maintenance on packaging machines, conveyors, and other equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and pneumatic issues.
• Conduct preventive maintenance using established schedules and procedures to reduce downtime.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
• Work closely with production teams to minimize disruptions and maintain operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with management to implement continuous improvement initiatives and increase equipment reliability.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns promptly and restore operations as quickly as possible.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Comply with all factory safety, and GMP rules and standards

What we are looking for

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in maintenance, preferably in a packaging or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Proficient in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Willingness to work 2nd shift.
