Our Maintenance Manager-OTP will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of OTP maintenance operations.

This position sits with our Swedish Match affiliate.

 

Your ‘day to day’

 

  • Analyze assigned areas and recommend improvements for optimal use of materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Schedule and direct maintenance personnel to ensure efficient performance and maximum productivity.
  • Lead, motivate, and coordinate team members to achieve departmental goals.
  • Execute production schedules while minimizing labor costs and optimizing machine utilization.
  • Ensure employees receive proper training and maintain safe work practices.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and safe storage of all maintenance-related materials and commodities.
  • Establish and uphold efficient material storage practices.
  • Lead training, discipline, performance evaluations, and skills development for all assigned maintenance staff; conduct regular performance reviews with mechanics.
  • Oversee all maintenance work, ensuring machinery meets performance and mechanical standards.
  • Assist in developing and integrating new machinery into production processes.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to reduce operational costs without compromising product quality.
  • Leverage modern technologies and proven systems to reduce process variation and enhance department performance.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in all areas within responsibility.
  • Coordinate product movement with other departments as needed.
  • Manage attendance, payroll, performance tracking, and disciplinary documentation for assigned staff.
  • Work a flexible schedule and spend time across all shifts as required.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the Union contract and conduct operations in compliance with contractual obligations while supporting strong Company/Union relations.
  • Monitor machinery performance, schedule preventive maintenance or repairs, and ensure maximum equipment productivity.
  • Ensure availability of spare parts and manage overhaul and readiness of machine assemblies.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and Packing Supervisors to maximize productivity across equipment and processes.
  • Oversee all SOPs and Work Instructions related to OTP Maintenance and ensure all personnel are trained and compliant.
  • Perform additional tasks, projects, or initiatives as assigned by management.

 

Who we’re looking for:

 

Education

  • Vocational school graduate or equivalent work experience.

Experience

  • At least five years of mechanical/electrical experience in a factory environment.
  • Supervisory experience required.

Skills

  • Strong leadership abilities, with the capability to achieve results through others.
  • Effective in scheduling work, training employees, evaluating performance, and implementing corrective action when needed.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills, including CMMS experience.
  • Solid understanding of maintenance and reliability best practices; self‑motivated and hands‑on work ethic.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and background.
  • Completion of the NOCTI test is required.

Specialized Knowledge

  • Expertise in machinery, troubleshooting, and mechanical repair.
  • Ability to diagnose and understand mechanical, electrical, and programming-related issues.
  • Strong knowledge of the current labor contract and its application to personnel management.
  • Proficient in maintenance systems, including computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

 

Annual Base Salary Range: $ 104,000 - $130,000
