Your ‘day to day’

 

 

As a Sr Scientist – Open Innovation, you will be responsible for leveraging the external world to source and incubate new technologies, capabilities, and products. This role focuses on exploring and learning from emerging technologies and new spaces in order to support the future product pipeline.

 

 

More specifically, you'll

 

 

  • Scout new technologies and emerging science by engaging with research partnerships, conferences, startup accelerators, and innovation hubs
  • Analyze and distill complex scientific and technical insights into practical opportunities and recommendations for PMI
  • Engage deeply with external specialists and tools, extracting know-how and translating it into relevant insights for technical and business teams
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners to understand upcoming needs and convert them into concrete technical requests for external collaborators, ensuring follow-up and learning.
  • Generate and gather new IP from emerging science and early-stage technology explorations
  • Document and communicate findings clearly, preparing structured reports and materials that support Open innovation governance and decision-making.
  • Present technology foresight and partnership outcomes to internal audiences in clear, compelling formats.

 

 

Who we’re looking for

 

 

  • PhD in science (e.g., Physics, Nanoscience/nanotechnology, etc) or engineering (e.g., Electronics, Mechatronics) or equivalent experience
  • Experience and exposure to a wide spectrum of technological areas (e.g., sensors, electronics, programming, AI)
  • Ability to evaluate and compare scientific or technological options and communicate insights clearly to diverse stakeholders
  • Experience engaging with external research and/or innovation ecosystems
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English.
