Your ‘day to day’
As a Senior Manager Strategic Alliances for Life Sciences you will be responsible for developing and leading strategic partnerships and alliances that align with our organization's goals, strategies, and objectives. You will play an integral role in building and fostering strong relationships between Life Sciences and its critical partners, defining & operationalizing partnership models with our external strategic partners (scientific partners, CROs, labs, etc.) and ensuring effectiveness of the models, and exploring opportunities to establish long-term and successful delivery mechanisms with a partnership approach for Medical Affairs, In Vivo research, early phase clinical sciences, etc. You will also engage with business partners including procurement, legal and finance in the operationalization of the outsourcing aspects of the Life Sciences strategy to foster a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
More specifically, you'll
- Identify, evaluate, and establish in collaboration with procurement, strategic partnerships and alliances that support the organization's strategic goals. Develop and implement partnership strategies to increase value and achieve mutual benefits. Lead and nurture relationships with key partners, ensuring alignment and collaboration on joint initiatives.
- Through careful negotiation and consistent communication, ensure that both Life Sciences and its partners align on mutual goals, working together to build ways of working that benefit all parties involved.
- Guide key stakeholders (e.g. program leaders, clinical heads) in seamlessly embedding partnership models into the day-to-day operations, ensuring right governance, identifying duplications, and providing fit for purpose supervision. Facilitate and lead the integration of processes between Life Sciences and its strategic partners.
- In collaboration with procurement, legal and other business partners support negotiations of partnership agreements, ensuring they meet operational requirements in addition to legal, commercial and financial requirements. Lead the implementation of performance metrics into partnership agreements.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of strategic alliances, defining & monitoring metrics and providing regular reports to senior management; recommend adjustments to strategies as necessary to improve outcomes.
- Resolve conflicts or issues that arise with partners, acting as the primary point of contact where relevant to maintain positive relationships. Organize and lead partnership review meetings to assess progress, share feedback, and plan future collaboration efforts. Facilitate implementation and change management interventions related to organization integration projects driven by the strategic partnerships.
- Provide strategic project level oversight of critical external service providers and provide advice and support in the form of diagnosis and customized interventions to the various program leads, project managers and other key team members regarding the planning and implementation of their respective strategies.
- Leadership: as a member of the Portfolio Program Delivery & Governance Leadership Team, contribute to the development of Life Sciences Programs and Strategy, and take ownership of the development and engagement of the organization to enable the company deliver short- and long-term plans within budget constraints and fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
Who we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in science or business, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Life Sciences industry, ideally with management experience in clinical & post-market research / large clinical and post-market programs. Demonstrated expertise in successfully building & driving effective multi-functional, multi-cultural, global teams. Sound experience in establishing and maintaining/governing strategic collaborations.
- Strong contract management, negotiation, business strategy, planning, conflict management, relationship management skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
