You ‘day to day’

 

As a Scientist - Substrate Technology, you will apply well-defined scientific/technical methods and work procedures to perform / elaborate analyses and technical activities to support your department. You will conduct development and validation of analytical methods of low to moderate complexity by using in-house available instruments and writing related scientific documents under supervision of senior scientist. You may be required to utilize scientific/technical principles to perform project activities of specific scope and low to moderate complexity within a specialized field. You will need to apply problem-solving techniques and may suggest improvements for methods, processes, products, systems, materials and/or equipment; also maintain and troubleshoot equipment.

 

More specifically, you will:

 

  • Perform analyses in line with the developed methods and work instructions. Collect, generate & review data. Ensure that quality & reliability of the measurements comply with method description. Collaborate to ensure data analysis accuracy based on prescribed criteria.
  • Manage outsourced measurements when clearly needed & identified and collaborate directly with external partners ensuring the appropriate quality and reliability.
  • Develop project plans, activity schedules and tracking of progress relative to the plans, timelines and resource requirements. Perform knowledge management via data compilation, review and storage in line with Company, FDA or any other equivalent accreditation authority requirements.
  • Maintain equipment up-and-running, report equipment breakdown in order to ensure the availability and the quality of laboratory work. Build up and maintain a network of external instrument suppliers, service providers and manufacturers.
  • Support senior scientist(s) for new method development and / or optimization. Conduct and implement analytical set-ups for new method evaluation and / or improvement. Write technical work instruction documents and keep them updated.
  • Develop work plan by organizing resources (man - machine) for method development and validation activities and running methods in routine, supervise the execution of these tasks to meet the required quality and the set deadline.
  • Contribute upon request to publication of research results in international peer-reviewed scientific journals, and other types of external scientific and regulatory communications.
  • Carry out all of the activities ensuring that PMI Compliance Policies, standards, and laws relating to these activities are fully respected, integrated and understood by partners, and implement adequate processes to ensure the protection of information of a confidential nature.

 

We’re looking for someone with:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related Life Sciences discipline, or equivalent
  • 1-5 years of relevant experience (including years of postdoc if any)
  • Good command of English is a must
