Your ‘day to day’
Product Design & Development Engineering focuses on designing and developing products, components, or assemblies, related to new technologies.
As a Manager Device Innovation, you will lead the end-to-end development and integration of new heating core technologies considering commercial, consumer and operational requirements for consumables, by applying engineering principles to develop mechanical, electronic, or chemical products that meet customer technical/functional specifications, as well as manufacturing cost/efficiency requirements. You will conduct product engineering simulation and modelling to define if proposed designs are technically feasible, as well as support and participate in the design, test, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototypes. You will also be involved with designing product specific manufacturing production processes and equipment, working in a multi-functional environment including 3rd party and participating actively to the definition of new innovation projects.
More specifically, you'll
- Oversee the development of new or existing products, components, or assemblies by using advanced engineering principles to ensure operational readiness for full production, while maintaining alignment with commercial and consumer requirements.
- Drive function-level projects and initiatives, develop and improve new products, processes, standards, and operational plans that significantly impact functional results and align with customer technical/functional specifications and manufacturing cost/efficiency requirements.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and training, create short- to mid-term operational plans for team’s work.
- Think ahead of what needs communicating and how, promote practices important for the function, both within and outside of it.
- Be responsible for changes in processes, systems, or products.
Who we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in electronic or mechanical engineering.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in consumer electronics, medical devices and project management.
- Sound expertise in product and process design with notions of mechanical, electronic, or chemical product development including the ability to integrate and anticipate commercial, consumer, and operational requirements into product development.
- Demonstrated experience in leading prototype development, testing, and optimization processes ensuring independent alignment with departmental goals and operational and consumer targets.
- Ability to resolve complex, non-routine issues within and potentially outside the area of specialization by adapting procedures and employing advanced expertise.
- Expertise in addressing problems that require interpretation and explanation of high complexity to influence agreement across departments or externally, to improve end-to-end solutions.
- Sound planning, listening, presentation and communication skills, as well as expertise in business and customer understanding.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English.
