We are currently looking for a Flavorist / Sr Flavorist to join our Product Development Department working on the Conventional Tobacco Products (CTP), in Neuchatel, Switzerland.

In this position you will apply extensive expertise in flavors formulation, flavors encapsulation and different flavoring techniques to create new or modify existing flavor concepts. You will contribute to the development of product strategies that will enhance the superiority and competitiveness of PMI's products, evaluate and interpret Products assessments results, contributing to define the taste strategy roadmap and taste portfolio requirements. You will also plan, organize and use appropriate resources in the frame of Global Projects, managing high complexity initiatives from ideation until commercial implementation.

Your responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver new flavors or new flavor delivery systems.
• Lead cross-functional teams in the scope of projects with increasingly complex and wide scope, either on Conventional Cigarettes or Smoke Free Products.
• Lead product improvements with tangible and impactful outputs, leveraging on contributions from multiple domains of expertise.
• Manage upgrade and maintenance of flavors portfolio with end-to-end accountability, driving flavor specifications transfer from the lab/semi-work scale to industrial scale to ensure smooth commercialization and deployment (including ingredient procurement and sustainability).
• Supervise subjective evaluations in collaboration with panel coordinators, followed by  interpretation of analytical and subjective results to be translated into actionable activities.

We’re looking for someone with:

• M.Sc or equivalent with scientific/technical specialization (i.e Food Chemistry, Food Technology, Biology, Biotechnology)
• Specific education on Flavor and Fragrances (e.g. ISIPCA certificate or equivalent institutions) is nice to have
• Ph.D in same or similar subject of Master in Science is a nice to have
• Experience in developing and delivering new flavors or new flavor delivery systems in a fast-evolving, fast-to-deliver, consumer-centric, regulated consumer goods environment
• Previous experience in tobacco industry and/or in formulating flavors for conventional tobacco products is a strong asset
