Your ‘day to day’

 

 

As a Director Evidence Development and a highly accomplished senior leader with non-clinical and translational science expertise across multiple health areas, you will define the scientific evidence development strategy to address various complex business goals. You will lead a team of scientists responsible for delivering scientific evaluation of new opportunities, designing research studies and plans, leading studies execution, and delivering robust scientific evidence for internal decision making, messaging substantiation and external communication. This role implies fostering scientific rigor, collaborative multi-functional ways of working, and engagement with key internal partners at various levels of the organization and with external scientific experts.

 

 

More specifically, you'll

 

 

  • Define the scientific evidence development strategy, translating business questions, scientific engagement and messaging ambitions into fit-for-purpose scientific studies and plans across relevant scientific domains.
  • Provide scientific leadership and strategic directions across evidence development programs.
  • Lead and oversee a team of scientists with different scientific backgrounds, ensuring scientific robustness from study design to interpretation of study findings and operational efficiency. Ensure appropriate resource allocations across the different research programs as per business priorities for timely execution.
  • Supervise the scientific evaluation of new opportunities and critically review scientific summaries, ensuring they accurately reflect the totality of evidence.
  • Critically review projects/study proposals and study findings to support scientific governance forum preparations for decision-making and outfacing communications (e.g. manuscripts).
  • Actively develop the team, through coaching and mentoring, ensuring capability development aligned with current and future scientific needs, while fostering high-performance, scientific rigor, and collaborative ways of working across scientific territories.
  • As scientific leader, engage with key multi-functional team members at various levels of the organization and with external scientific specialists.

 

 

Who we’re looking for

 

 

  • PhD & Post-Doctoral Fellow in Biological Sciences.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience post-PhD in non-clinical and translational research within an R&D environment, with demonstrated scientific expertise across multiple health areas, such as neuroscience, pulmonary health, cardiovascular health, and oral health.
  • Demonstrated experience leading scientific teams, building strong relationships, and operating effectively within matrix project organizations.
  • Strong business acumen gained through industry leadership experience, including the development of research strategies and plans to support upstream innovation and claim / message substantiation.
  • Scientific and operational leadership.
  • Data driven decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Creativity, critical thinking, innovation and strategic mindset.
  • Influencing, engagement and strong communication skills.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English.
