As a Senior Manager Government Affairs, you will help shape the external environment in which we operate. You will lead engagement with government officials, regulators, policymakers, industry associations and key opinion leaders, helping advance PMI’s smoke-free future while supporting business priorities.
Your Day to Day
- Lead government affairs and external engagement strategies aligned with business and policy priorities.
- Build and strengthen relationships with government officials, regulators, policymakers and industry associations.
- Develop advocacy initiatives that support PMI’s smoke-free transformation.
- Monitor legislative, regulatory and political developments, providing strategic recommendations to leadership.
- Identify policy risks and opportunities and develop plans to address them.
- Conduct influence mapping and build engagement strategies to navigate complex political and regulatory environments.
- Represent PMI at meetings, industry forums and public policy discussions.
- Partner with Legal, Commercial, Scientific Affairs and Communications to align engagement plans and policy positions.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team while fostering collaboration and accountability.
Who We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Economics, International Relations or a related field is preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Government Affairs, Public Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Corporate Affairs or public policy-related roles.
- Proven track record engaging with government institutions, regulators, policymakers and industry associations.
- Strong understanding of legislative processes, regulatory frameworks and political dynamics.
- Experience developing and delivering advocacy and external engagement strategies.
- Strong influencing, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Strategic problem solver with the ability to translate policy and regulatory developments into business actions.
- Experience leading teams and managing multiple priorities in a complex and evolving environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage senior executives, public officials and external audiences.
