About the Future in Progress: Future Leaders Program – Finance

Our 36-month program is designed for bold thinkers and ambitious finance professionals ready to challenge assumptions, generate insights, and influence business strategy across markets.

Through two high-impact rotations, you will operate at the intersection of finance and business—translating strategy into performance, driving planning cycles, and delivering meaningful impact in a global organization. Along the way, you’ll build strong connections with senior leadership and a vibrant alumni community committed to accelerating your development and amplifying your influence.

Your leadership journey

Your experience is built as a progression through high-impact rotations designed to accelerate your leadership:

1. First rotation

  • Build end-to-end business understanding: Develop strong financial and commercial acumen by diving into PMI’s operations, strategy, and transformation agenda.
  • Drive planning & performance cycles: Contribute to key financial processes such as LRP, OGSM, OB, and IBP—connecting strategy with execution.
  • Establish your leadership foundation: Own critical analyses and projects, strengthening your ability to influence decisions and engage stakeholders.

2. Second rotation

  • Expand your global mindset: Navigate diverse regulatory, fiscal, and market environments while operating across borders.
  • Lead impactful financial initiatives: Drive data-driven decisions, scenario planning, and forecasting that deliver measurable business value.
  • Influence at scale: Partner with senior stakeholders to challenge assumptions and shape strategic outcomes across markets and categories.

Who Can Apply?

We are looking for forward-thinking finance professionals who combine strategic thinking, analytical depth, and strong business partnership capabilities.

To be eligible, you should have:

  • An MBA or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience in a global organization, with exposure to diverse markets and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish
  • Legal right to work in Mexico (no sponsorship required)
  • Willingness to relocate internationally and within your home market

What we’re looking for (Finance capabilities)

Strategic & Long-Range Planning Leadership

  • Lead and orchestrate planning cycles (LRP, OGSM, OB, IBP), ensuring alignment from strategy to execution
  • Translate business and category strategies into clear financial narratives, targets, and scenarios
  • Balance long-term planning with in-year performance steering

Business & Commercial Acumen (“Finance for Business”)

  • Strong understanding of commercial drivers: categories, margins, route-to-market, cost-to-serve, and growth levers
  • Ability to challenge business decisions with data-backed insights
  • Integrate regulatory, fiscal, and market realities into planning and forecasting

Advanced Analytical Thinking & Insight Generation

  • Move beyond reporting to build compelling stories behind the numbers
  • Connect data across markets, categories, and time horizons to identify risks and opportunities
  • Expertise in forecasting, scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and financial modeling

Stakeholder Partnership & Influence

  • Act as a trusted partner to senior leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Use constructive challenge (“positive friction”) to influence decisions
  • Demonstrate strong executive presence in complex and ambiguous environments

Leadership, Team Enablement & Change Navigation

  • Lead and develop analysts and planners across markets or shared services
  • Drive clarity and momentum in transformation contexts (organizational changes, digitalization, new operating models)
  • Role model adaptability, accountability, and a growth mindset
