About the Future in Progress: Future Leaders program

Our 36-month program is designed for bold thinkers and ambitious professionals ready to experiment, introduce new ideas, and lead change that spans borders. Through two high-impact rotations, you’ll create transformative solutions while learning from some of the brightest minds in the industry. As you progress, you’ll build strong connections with senior leadership and a vibrant alumni community, all committed to accelerating your development and amplifying your influence.

  1. First rotation
    • Gain business fluency: Dive into PMI’s operations for a comprehensive understanding of our commercial landscape, ongoing transformation efforts, and key priorities.
    • Shape outcomes across functions: Work in partnership with diverse teams to address regional opportunities, developing approaches that drive progress.
    • Establish your leadership foundation: Own significant projects, sharpening your decision-making and stakeholder engagement skills.
  1. Second rotation
    • Develop cultural agility & a global mindset: Lead as you navigate business practices and regulatory environments—expanding your view as a leader across borders.
    • Deliver results at scale: Take charge of bold, data-driven initiatives, turning ideas into measurable value in real-world, multicultural settings.
    • Inspire across teams: Motivate and empower teams, balancing local needs with PMI’s global direction, and creating lasting results in evolving markets.

Who Can Apply?

We’re searching for accomplished, forward-thinking professionals who thrive in complexity, take ownership, and are eager to shape the future. To be eligible for the Future in Progress: Future Leaders Program, you should have:

  • A master’s or bachelor’s degree in business, business administration (MBA), economics, or a related field.
  • No less than 6 years of post-graduation professional experience in a global organization, with exposure to diverse markets and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in English and the local language of the country where you’re applying.
  • Legal right to work in the country of application (without sponsorship).
  • Willingness and ability to relocate internationally and within your home market.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to apply business insights in decision-making.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and solve complex challenges.
  • Agility and resilience in fast-changing environments.
  • Initiative to drive progress and propose bold ideas.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working across functions.

Experience & Capabilities (Desirable)

We value professionals who bring a strong mix of commercial insight, analytical thinking, and leadership potential. Experience in the following areas will be considered a strong asset:

B2B / B2C Commercial Strategy & Execution

Contributes to the optimization of commercial execution, with a focus on performance, operational rigor, and consistent in-store and/or omnichannel experiences. Supports initiatives that enhance execution standards across multiple touchpoints and channels, working closely with field and headquarters teams.

Demonstrates a consumer-centric mindset by translating market, customer, and frontline insights into actionable strategies that strengthen demand generation, conversion, and engagement across brands and channels.

Business & Financial Acumen

Applies strong business and financial judgment to support commercial decision-making. Contributes to P&L-related analyses, identification of growth opportunities, and evaluation of trade-offs to drive sustainable, value-focused outcomes.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Influence

Demonstrates leadership through influence, collaboration, and ownership in dynamic, cross-functional environments. Leads projects or initiatives that require coordination across teams, functions, or geographies, with or without direct people management responsibilities.

Field-Driven Market Insight

Maintains proximity to market realities through experience in field or customer-facing environments. Translates frontline insights into actions or recommendations that improve execution quality, commercial effectiveness, and responsiveness to local market needs.
