This transformation brings enormous opportunity, and we’re looking for an Internal Controls Business Partner to help drive governance, risk and control excellence across our Australian and New Zealand markets.
About the role
Reporting to senior leadership and working closely with cross‑functional stakeholders, you will lead the internal controls framework and play a key role in strengthening risk management, compliance and process improvement.
This role is internally titled Manager, Internal Controls and offers a unique blend of business partnering, strategic oversight, and hands‑on delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the internal controls and SOX compliance program across AU & NZ
- Drive effective design, implementation and continuous improvement of internal controls
- Partner with senior stakeholders to enhance processes, mitigate risk and support decision‑making
- Lead testing of control design and operating effectiveness
- Identify, evaluate and support remediation of control gaps
- Provide insights, reporting and recommendations for business leaders
- Leverage global and regional initiatives to streamline and strengthen governance processes
About you
You will bring:
- Degree in Finance, Business, Economics or similar, plus a recognised qualification (CA, CPA, CIA, CISA or equivalent)
- Strong experience in internal controls, audit, risk management or assurance — ideally in a multinational or complex environment
- SOX experience and knowledge of control frameworks
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into insights
- Experience with SAP, governance platforms (OpenPages, Sofy) and analytics tools (desirable)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management capability
- A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset and ability to thrive through change
- Experience mentoring or guiding others (advantageous)
