Your ‘day to day’

 

  • Manage and guide the process of buying green leaf from farmers through Leaf buyers
  • Manage and implement/execute the buying strategies/pricing agreed upon by management
  • Prepare and present weekly buying report to local Leaf controls and SLT/regional/higher management
  • Negotiate with farmers at buying station special situations and/or conflicts regarding tobacco grading under PTB grading system
  • Represent PMPKL in all Pakistan tobacco board meetings  related to crop/price and other regulatory affairs
  • Achieve set targets/KPIs through his team impacting all aspects of the operation ( quality, cost, safety and operational efficiency)
  • Over see that operations are smooth especially during buying season with efficient use of resources i,e systems and third part services involved in buying
  • Establish and maintain a preventive R&M system for Buying locations and equipment under the leaf buying & grading departments scope. Conduct regular inspections, prioritize repairs, and ensure compliance with operational and safety standards
  • Integrate buying team and collaborate with SA team effectively in off buying season to meet and exceed shared KPI,s
  • Prepare and manage the warehousing department’s annual budget, including quarterly revised forecasts. Track expenses (e.g., Repair& maintenance, equipment, 3rd party services costs), identify cost-saving opportunities, and report variances to Leadership team

 

Who we’re looking for

  • College/ University Agriculture (BSC.Hons or MSc.Hons) 
  • 3 -4 years' experience in Agri-Business Purchase Models
