Position Title:  Regional Compliance Investigator

The Opportunity

As the Regional Compliance Investigator – Asia Pacific, CIS, Middle East & Africa, you will play a critical role in PMI’s global investigations program. You will lead and manage internal compliance investigations across multiple countries and jurisdictions strengthen our Speak Up culture, to make PMI better.

You will collaborate with Local and Regional Compliance Officers, work directly with the Head of Global Compliance Investigations, and contribute to global investigation standards, tools, and training. This is a high‑impact, highly autonomous role requiring excellent judgment, resilience, and cross‑cultural collaboration.

What You’ll Do

Lead & Execute Investigations

• Manage and conduct internal compliance investigations across Asia Pacific, CIS as well as Middle East & Africa.
• Develop investigation strategies, conduct interviews, and lead electronic discovery and data gathering.
• Produce clear, concise, and high‑quality investigation reports.
• Identify root causes and trends; recommend mitigation actions.
• Ensure all Regional compliance cases are accurately recorded in the global case management system.

Oversight & Collaboration with Local Compliance Officers

• Triage and assign cases across the region of responsibility.
• Advise Local Compliance Officers on strategy and act as backup or secondary investigator.
• Support interviews, e‑discovery, and report drafting.

Quality Assurance & Standards

• Implement and maintain an investigations quality assurance program.
• Review investigative procedures, documentation, and findings to ensure consistent excellence.
• Contribute to the development of PMI’s global investigations manual, tools, templates, and training content.

Global Investigations Support

• Assist with escalated or sensitive investigations led by the Global team.
• Support investigations in other geographies when needed.
• Prepare reports and briefings for Regional Compliance Officers and Global Investigations leadership.

Who We’re Looking For

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years’ experience leading and conducting Investigations with a strong background in Compliance.
• Demonstrated expertise handling complex, sensitive, multi‑jurisdictional cases.
• Strong experience in investigative interviewing, evidential analysis, and use of e‑discovery.
• Ability to manage multiple sensitive cases simultaneously under tight timelines.
• Exceptional English writing skills with the ability to draft crisp, precise reports.
• Experience developing investigation guidance documents, tools, and training for investigators.
• Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks, internal controls, and global regulations.
• Proficiency with AI tools, Excel, PowerPoint, and evidence/data management systems.
• Previous law enforcement or detective experience is advantageous.
• Degree in Law, Business, Accounting, or related field is beneficial.

Language Requirements

• Fluent in English and Filipino (Tagalog).
• Bahasa Indonesia, Javanese, Korean, Japanese or Arabic are a plus.
