To ensure consistency, transparency, and measurable business impact across markets, we are strengthening our global capability to structure, govern, and measure media and event investments at scale.
Purpose of the job
As Global Media & Events Procurement Lead, you will be responsible for structuring and governing how media and strategic event investments operate at a global scale, ensuring consistency, transparency, and measurable business impact across markets. Media is the core focus of the role (majority of scope and complexity), while Events are managed as a complementary category with strong visibility and significant investment.
Role profile
This role requires a strong understanding of both agency dynamics and business impact, and the ability to operate confidently in environments where structure, alignment and clarity are not always given. Success depends on judgment, a governance mindset and the capacity to bring order and accountability to complex media ecosystems—while enabling marketing teams to deliver business outcomes effectively.
Key responsibilities
Media (Primary Focus)
- Oversee the global deployment and governance of media activities across multiple channels (paid media, social, SEO), coordinating with global, regional and local cross-functional teams across 45+ markets.
-
Lead analysis of media buying efficiency and effectiveness, including regular performance reviews, identification of optimization opportunities and tracking of value delivery across markets.
-
Develop and deliver tailored performance reporting to stakeholders at different levels, translating complex data, commercial structures and results into clear, actionable insights.
-
Support and guide local and regional sourcing activities (RFPs, RFIs), contributing to the definition of commercial models, governance structures and agency setups.
-
Optimize global and local commercial frameworks and agency relationships, ensuring alignment between business needs, operating models and financial performance.
-
Own and manage contracts and agreements related to media agencies, platforms and technology providers, including negotiations, renewals and performance tracking.
-
Provide strategic support to cross-functional teams where media investment plays a role, including communications, corporate initiatives and market activations.
-
Evaluate media-related proposals, innovations and partnerships, ensuring alignment with performance expectations, governance principles and consistent measurement of outcomes.
-
Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders across procurement, marketing and other functions, managing complexity and ensuring clarity in decision-making processes.
Events (Investment-Focused Scope)
- Define and govern sourcing and commercial frameworks for strategic events, including global, regional and high-profile local initiatives.
-
Support cross-functional teams (Communications, Marketing, Corporate Affairs) in the selection and governance of event agencies and suppliers.
-
Ensure consistency in commercial models, contractual terms and financial transparency across event-related investments.
-
Introduce structure and discipline to how event investments are evaluated, including cost benchmarking, scope clarity and post-event value assessment where applicable.
-
Act as a procurement partner in senior-visibility events, bringing governance, control and commercial rigor without impacting creative or operational execution.
What we are looking for
- Minimum of 10 years of experience within media agencies, with strong exposure to global or multi-market accounts.
-
Proven experience working with large advertisers and managing complex, high-investment media ecosystems.
-
Solid understanding of how agencies operate, including commercial models, incentives, remuneration structures and performance drivers.
-
Experience operating across multiple markets and stakeholders in complex, matrixed organizations.
-
Ability to connect data, commercial structures and business outcomes into a coherent, performance-driven view of media investment.
-
High level of autonomy, structured thinking and comfort operating in ambiguous, cross-functional environments.
-
Strong stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to challenge, align and influence at different levels of the organization.
-
Previous exposure to procurement, commercial governance or contract management is a strong advantage.
-
Excellent language skills, with full professional fluency in English and the ability to operate confidently in multi-cultural, multi-market environments.
-
Up-to-date understanding of the evolving media and advertising landscape, including the impact of AI and AI-enabled tools on media planning, buying, optimization, measurement and agency operating models.
-
Ability to assess AI-related media propositions, distinguish genuine value creation from hype, and incorporate relevant innovations into commercial, governance and performance frameworks where appropriate.
