As PMI continues to advance innovation in healthcare and life sciences, we are looking for a strategic and collaborative We are now recruiting for a new Category Manager - Clinical, in our Procurement team based in Madrid, Spain!
Your purpose -
As the Category Manager - Clinical, you will lead sourcing strategies, while building and maintaining strong supplier relationships for clinical trials and related services. You’ll work closely with R&D, innovation teams, and external partners to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery of services that support our product development pipeline.
What you’ll do –
- Strategic Partnership - Collaborate with clinical and R&D teams to understand business needs and timelines. Act as a trusted advisor, ensuring procurement is involved early in the planning process.
- Category Management - Develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with evolving business needs. Lead vendor selection, contract negotiation, and supplier performance management.
- Innovation & Collaboration - Engage with startups, research institutions, and data providers to foster innovation. Promote collaboration across cultural and organizational boundaries.
- Operational Excellence - Ensure compliance with corporate policies, including sustainability, legal, and quality standards. Leverage digital sourcing tools to enhance efficiency and transparency.
- Capability Building - Support team development through coaching, training, and knowledge sharing. Contribute to digital transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Who we’re looking for –
- A university degree (or equivalent) in Science, Economics, Finance, or Supply Chain Management.
- Solid procurement experience in fast-paced, multinational environments.
- Experience in life sciences, pharma, or clinical trials (outsourcing management is a plus).
- Strong project and people leadership skills.
- Proficient in English; Spanish language skills are a plus.
- Proficiency in tools such as SAP, Scout, Sievo, and Microsoft Office.
