Commercial Capability Development Manager
Location: Hammersmith Office (travel to field force meetings required)This role is responsible for shaping and delivering the capability strategy for the commercial organisation. As a strategic partner to senior stakeholders, you will design and implement learning solutions that build leadership capability, close skill gaps, drive behavioural change, and improve business performance across the Field Force and wider commercial teams.Using expertise in learning design, adult learning principles, coaching, and stakeholder engagement, you will create impactful learning journeys aligned to business priorities. You will apply the 70-20-10 learning framework, embed learning into everyday work, and use data-driven insights to demonstrate measurable outcomes and ROI.
Key Responsibilities -
Strategic Capability Development
- Partner with Commercial Leadership, Talent Management, and P&C teams to identify and prioritise capability needs.
- Design and deliver end-to-end learning journeys for Sales Managers and Regional Sales Managers.
- Develop learning interventions that strengthen commercial and cross-functional capability.
Insight-Driven Learning
- Conduct capability assessments and skill-gap analyses to inform development plans.
- Spend time in the field to understand business challenges and identify emerging learning needs.
- Translate insights into targeted solutions that support future business requirements.
Leadership Coaching & Culture
- Support and coach field leaders to enhance leadership effectiveness and team performance.
- Promote inclusive leadership, psychological safety, and a high-performance culture.
- Collaborate with Commercial Development Managers to continually elevate field capability through shared insights and best practices.
Innovation & Impact
- Continuously improve learning programmes using modern tools, methodologies, and technology.
- Measure learning effectiveness and ROI through qualitative and quantitative analysis.
- Present recommendations and insights to senior stakeholders.
- Manage budgets responsibly and ensure compliance with PMI standards and integrity principles.
Key Requirements
- CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience in learning and development strategy, design, and delivery.
- Proven experience building capability within commercial, sales, or field-based organisations.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior leaders.
- Demonstrated success linking learning initiatives to business outcomes and performance improvements.
- Expertise in adult learning, coaching methodologies, and digital learning solutions.
- Strategic thinker with strong execution and project delivery skills.
