About the Role

As an Area Activation Manager, you will lead, develop, and inspire a team of Territory Activation Executives (TAEs), ensuring they are aligned, engaged, and equipped to deliver outstanding commercial results.

You will set the tone for a high‑performance culture, providing clear direction while driving strong execution, territory planning, and compliance across your area. This is a hands‑on leadership role that blends strategy, coaching, and commercial insight—empowering your team to thrive in a dynamic FMCG environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and coach a team of TAEs to deliver exceptional commercial performance
  • Provide on‑the‑job coaching and tailored development plans to support personal and business objectives
  • Drive engagement through regular team meetings, one‑to‑ones, and open communication
  • Ensure territory plans align with wider business strategy and growth goals
  • Make fair, transparent, and values‑driven people decisions
  • Use data insights to monitor team performance and identify trends, opportunities, and development needs
  • Implement corrective actions and learning interventions to support continuous improvement
  • Apply coaching techniques including the GROW model, effective questioning, micro‑coaching, and motivational strategies
  • Provide regular, constructive two‑way feedback
  • Identify and develop future leadership talent across the team
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of performance, market insights, and activity
  • Communicate progress and updates to the Regional Activation Manager (RAM)
  • Maintain consistent ways of working and provide clear business context to the team
  • Use data‑driven planning to prioritise focus areas and territory opportunities
  • Build strong relationships with key retailers to unlock sustainable growth
  • Design and execute area growth strategies using data and market metrics
  • Identify high‑potential accounts and ensure customer‑centric decisions based on territory demographics
  • Manage stakeholder expectations through clear and proactive communication

 

About You

 

You will be a passionate people leader with strong commercial acumen, exceptional coaching ability, and a proven track record in field activation or FMCG sales.

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred)
  • 5+ years’ experience in sales, field activation, or territory management
  • FMCG industry experience (essential)
  • Strong leadership experience with a focus on people development
  • Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills
  • Ability to interpret data and performance metrics
  • Experience in territory and stakeholder management
  • Strong communication, planning, and delegation abilities
  • Proven capability to build, motivate, and develop high‑performing teams
  • Effective decision‑making and problem‑solving skills
  • Confident working collaboratively across functions
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, sales analytics tools (e.g., Power BI), and Microsoft Office Suite
