Purpose of the role

As part of PMI’s Corporate Treasury department, you will play a key role in strengthening the company’s global risk control and loss prevention capabilities across factories, warehouses and critical business operations worldwide. Working in close partnership with internal stakeholders, insurers, brokers and risk engineering specialists, you will help identify, assess and mitigate property damage, business interruption and operational risks through proactive risk engineering, robust governance and data-driven insights.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the resilience of PMI’s operations, support strategic decision-making and further develop expertise at the intersection of industrial risk, insurance and loss prevention.

Your day-to-day:

Risk Control & Loss Prevention

• Develop and coordinate global risk control and loss prevention initiatives that help prevent losses and enhance resilience across PMI locations.
• Coordinate insurer risk engineering services across PMI factories, warehouses and selected third-party logistics locations, applying Highly Protected Risk principles and recognized loss prevention standards.
• Review, consolidate and communicate risk survey findings and risk improvement recommendations, ensuring effective follow-up with Operations, Engineering, EHS, Security, Sustainability, Finance and other relevant stakeholders.
• Provide risk control advice and design input for factory modifications, greenfield developments and major capital projects, from feasibility studies and concept design through to final design review.
• Identify and communicate critical Maximum Foreseeable Loss considerations, insurance coverage implications and related risk engineering requirements.
• Coordinate insurer risk engineering support for major projects, including risk control specifications, technical document reviews, MFL design alignment and on-site engineering support.
• Design and deliver risk control training and information sessions, leveraging insurer expertise and contributing to the development of practical internal guidance materials.

Insurance, Claims & Risk Data

• Support the renewal of PMI’s corporate insurance programs by providing risk engineering insights, validating insurable values and helping resolve identified discrepancies.
• Leverage risk engineering data and loss prevention insights to support discussions on insurance premiums, coverage terms and risk improvement priorities with insurers and brokers.
• Contribute risk engineering expertise to claims processes, helping ensure claims are managed efficiently, fairly and in line with policy terms.
• Develop analytical tools, benchmarks and dashboards to identify loss trends, track risk improvement progress and strengthen management reporting.
• Provide advisory support, technical input and training to PMI affiliates and global functions on core risk management topics, including insurance coverage, limits, deductibles and exclusions.
• Use AI and other technology tools to maintain high-quality risk data, enhance KPI dashboards and improve the effectiveness of management reports.

Who we are looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Risk Management, Insurance or a related field; a master’s degree or relevant professional qualification would be an asset.
• 5–10 years of professional experience in engineering, risk engineering, loss prevention, industrial operations, insurance or a related field.
• Genuine curiosity and commitment to building expertise in insurance, risk control, loss prevention and industrial risk management.
• Strong analytical, quantitative and organizational skills, with the confidence to challenge the status quo and present clear, practical recommendations.
• Collaborative and credible communicator, able to build effective working relationships across functions, markets and external partners.
• Fluency in both written and spoken English.
