We’re looking for a Manager, Internal Communications Operations (Maternity Cover) to lead and deliver high-impact internal communications that support leadership, corporate, functional, and change initiatives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping and executing strategic communication plans aligned with business priorities. They will manage and continuously enhance internal communication channels—including the intranet and internal social platforms—while embedding best practices across the organization.

This role will also lead the delivery of end-to-end change communications, develop engaging content and campaign materials in collaboration with subject matter experts, and plan and execute a range of events such as webcasts, town halls, and hybrid activations.

Additionally, they will oversee the internal communications calendar, ensuring consistent, timely, and effective messaging across the organization.

Key Accountabilities:

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Provides guidance and shares subject matter expertise with junior colleagues, allocating and recommending tasks within their area of specialization.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver effective communication solutions and address shared challenges.

Planning & Delivery

  • Supports the development of functional goals, plans, and budgets, ensuring alignment with broader organizational priorities.
  • Leads and delivers mid- to large-scale projects, including those extending beyond immediate scope, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes.

Operational Excellence & Expertise

  • Applies in-depth knowledge of internal communications processes, tools, and best practices to enhance delivery and effectiveness.
  • Continuously improves internal processes, systems, and communication channels to drive efficiency and engagement.

Problem Solving & Decision Making

  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to identify opportunities for improvement and implement practical solutions.
  • Makes informed, independent decisions within their area of responsibility and provides data-driven recommendations to support broader decision-making.

We’re looking for someone with:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CIPR, IABC) are desirable but not essential

Core Communication Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, engaging, and audience-appropriate messaging
  • Strong storytelling and content creation capabilities across multiple formats (articles, scripts, presentations, campaigns)

Stakeholder Management

  • Ability to influence and advise senior leaders and stakeholders confidently
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience collaborating across functions and geographies

Project & Program Management

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, often under tight deadlines
  • Strong organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively

Digital & Channel Management

  • Experience managing internal communication platforms (e.g., intranet, employee apps, internal social media)
  • Understanding of digital best practice and employee engagement strategies

Change Communication

  • Skilled in developing and delivering change communication strategies that drive understanding and adoption

Analytical & Problem-Solving

  • Ability to use data and insights to evaluate communication effectiveness and inform improvements
  • Proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing practical solutions
