This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to strategic projects, learn how global ecosystems are built, and help connect ideas, partners, and execution with impact.

About the team

New Business Commercial Ecosystems sits at the intersection of innovation, procurement, operations, and external partnerships. We identify and activate ecosystems including startups, universities, technology providers, CDMOs, CMOs, and strategic suppliers to help PMI explore, experiment, execute, and scale faster.

Who we're looking for

We are seeking a curious, proactive, and structured intern motivated by innovation, partnerships, and business impact.

  • Student or recent graduate in Business, Engineering, Innovation Management, Procurement, Operations, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to structure information and derive insights.
  • Interest in innovation ecosystems, technology scouting, strategic suppliers, and external manufacturing partners.
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and cultures.
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills; AI or data tool experience is a plus.
  • Exposure to Agile ways of working is an advantage.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.

Role & Objectives

As part of New Business Commercial Ecosystems, you will support initiatives that help build and activate external ecosystems for future growth.

  • Support strategic projects across Open Innovation, New Product Sourcing, Wellness & Healthcare, Clinical Research, and external manufacturing.
  • Conduct market and partner research to identify relevant technologies, capabilities, suppliers, and ecosystem players.
  • Prepare analyses, insights, and executive-ready presentations.
  • Contribute to operating models and playbooks for scouting, assessing, onboarding, and managing partners.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, R&D, Sustainability teams, and external partners.
  • Bring fresh perspectives to improve innovation, resilience, speed, and business performance.
