Your ‘day to day’

The Sr Manager Communications is responsible for leading the development and execution of communication strategies to enhance corporate equity, support regulatory objectives, and drive societal acceptance of the company's products. This role involves managing local social and web platforms, developing media strategies, and building relationships with media houses and stakeholders. The Sr Manager Communications will also oversee sustainability reporting initiatives, monitor regulatory developments, and collaborate with partners to promote the company's sustainability efforts. By aligning local communication initiatives with global narratives and business priorities, the Sr Manager Communications ensures effective stakeholder engagement and amplifies the company's voice in the market

 

You will be accountable for:

 

  • Development and Execution of Engagement Strategies: Oversee and lead the development and execution of market communication strategies and plans to enhance corporate equity, support regulatory objectives, and drive societal acceptance of the company's products.
  • Digital Campaigns, Social and Web Platforms: Develop and execute digital campaigns to build corporate equity and drive societal acceptance of the company's products. Maintain local owned social and web platforms to share corporate content and engage with stakeholders
  • Corporate Equity Strategy: Develop local corporate equity strategy, identifying relevant areas to focus on and areas for the company to invest and communicate, including footprint, exports, P&C related, and sustainability
  • Regulatory Communications: Develop regulatory communications strategy to support policy objectives through media, providing air cover and targeted grassroots and grasstop efforts
  • Media Strategies: Develop insights-driven media strategies to support category adoption and advocacy, understanding and support of the category by the general public and specific stakeholders
  • Media Relationships: Build and manage strategic relationships with local media houses, reporters, editors, and specialized journals to drive media engagement and coverage
  • Sustainability: Coordinate local sustainability reporting initiatives, assess and submit market sustainability scorecards, monitor regulatory developments, and proactively manage risks and opportunities. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess product and financial impact of sustainability regulations
  • Leadership and Development (When it applies): Leading and developing the team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team. Ensure that the team is equipped with the necessary skills and resources to achieve corporate affairs objectives, providing guidance and support as needed by assessing and developing talents, building expertise, and building pipeline; ensuring optimal organizational set-up, managing resources efficiently, and driving employee engagement
  • Compliance: Ensure all government relations activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and PMI’s internal policies and standards.

 

Who we’re looking for

  • Undergraduate and Master's degree, preferably in directly related field of Public Affairs, Political Science, Communications, or a related field
  • +10 years of experience  in external/ corporate communications/PR communication.
  • Industry-specific knowledge is a plus. Track record in developing and managing public relations and corporate communications objectives. Experience in both, corporation and agency is a plus.
  • 5+ years working in highly regulated sectors or industries such as pharma, chemical, energy and or construction
  • +3 years in PMI markets, regions and/or OC roles from a variety of business functions
  • +3 years of Leadership/People management responsibility if the role has direct reports.
