Your ‘day to day’
Oversee the product quality performance of external manufacturing partners, ensuring full alignment with PMI quality standards. Ensure superior product quality, performance, and reliability across all finished products. Ensure implementation of PMI quality requirements across all processes at external partner facilities. Sustain and govern the Quality Control Program, ensuring consistent product quality levels with existing or new suppliers. Lead definition and implementation of PMI quality requirements for technology transfer projects and capacity expansion ensuring seamless and compliant onboarding of external partners. Role is based at Bandar Baru Bangi.
- Ensure external partners’ readiness and capability to manufacture and deliver PMI products in full compliance with agreed quality requirements and certified quality systems.
- Continuously monitor and verify compliance of external partners with PMI quality standards and quality systems throughout the entire product life cycle.
- Lead, monitor, and drive the initiation of manufacturing and product quality improvement programs, ensuring proactive enhancement of processes and product performance.
- Manage, execute, and sustain Out-of-Box Audit activities to ensure PMI products meet all defined quality requirements before shipment.
- Ensure the agreed quality control strategy is fully developed and implemented, including control plans, quality control procedures, and work instructions for all PMI products.
- Lead the buy‑off and execution of manufacturing readiness qualification at external partners, and contribute to productivity improvements during both NPI and mass‑production phases.
- Develop and maintain strong knowledge of product manufacturing processes by applying process‑characterization methods and analytical tools.
- Apply risk‑based techniques to facilitate and validate product quality during device industrialization activities.
- Collaborate with Supplier Quality engineers, internal cross‑functional teams, and component suppliers to address and resolve supplier‑quality–related topics.
- Provide SME support and contribute to supplier compliance and technical audits when required, ensuring alignment with PMI quality expectations and industry standards
- Liaise with internal and external functional partners to address open points, resolve potential issues, and ensure smooth coordination across all activities.
- Identify, escalate, and follow up on product non‑conformities, managing CAPA with external partners to ensure timely resolution and prevention of recurrence.
- Lead market‑return failure analysis and root‑cause investigations, ensuring accurate diagnosis and driving effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide SME support and contribute to product and process improvement initiatives, enabling continuous enhancement of quality performance and manufacturing robustness.
- Own and maintain the quality‑performance indicator scorecard for external partners, ensuring timely reporting and review of key metrics to monitor performance trends and drive continuous improvement.
Who we’re looking for
- BSc degree in Engineering or equivalents.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt will be an advantage.
- 10 years above working experience in electronic industry and quality and engineering discipline
- Experience in high volume electronic consumer product and different manufacturing business models management
- Thorough knowledge of Quality System, project management and advance quality philosophy, i.e. Six Sigma methodology
- Experience in ISO13485 quality standard of FDA is an advantage
- Good Command of English is a must
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Proficiency in quality tools and familiar with international quality systems
- Demonstrated leadership capability to drive above the line thinking
- Ability to network and influence at every organizational level, internally and externally
- Strong negotiation and conflict management skills
- Proficiency in project management techniques
