Position Title: Tech Lead, Cloud Strategy
Krakow, MA, PL, 31-982
MAKE HISTORY WITH US!
The Tech Lead, Cloud Strategy is a technical leadership role within the Platform Engineering team, responsible for delivering cross-functional strategic initiatives that accelerate business on AWS. This role requires deep hands-on expertise in AWS services, Python, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and specially AI-oriented platform capabilities (managed runtimes, registries, tool discovery, orchestration frameworks). The Tech Lead sets technical direction through architecture decisions, code reviews, engineering and security standards, and mentorship within an existing team.
Your day-to-day
AI Platform Capabilities
- Architect and implement managed runtime environments for AI workloads on AWS.
- Build service registries with semantic discovery and gateway integrations.
- Integrate LLM providers (e.g., AWS Bedrock) and orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, Strands, or equivalent).
- Implement communication protocols (MCP, A2A) for tool discovery and service-to-service interaction.
- Develop Python platform code: runtime handlers, SDK integrations, configuration management, and developer-facing templates.
Platform Engineering & Infrastructure
- Build and maintain declarative infrastructure using IaC tools (e.g., Crossplane, Terraform) with GitOps-friendly patterns.
- Implement GitOps workflows (e.g., Argo CD, Flux) for continuous reconciliation and environment promotion.
- Design and operate CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) with security gates: SAST, SCA, container scanning, and automated deployment.
- Build and deploy containerized services on AWS (ARM64/Graviton, ECR, multi-arch Docker builds).
- Implement observability (tracing, metrics, structured logging) using OpenTelemetry as the instrumentation framework and backend tools such as CloudWatch, X-Ray, Elastic, New Relic, or equivalent.
Cross-Functional, End-to-End Delivery
- Collaborate with product owners, developers, operations, and security to deliver integrated solutions.
- Drive initiatives from architecture through production deployment, maintaining quality and timelines.
- Identify and resolve delivery bottlenecks across teams.
- Translate business requirements into platform capabilities that reduce cognitive load for consuming teams.
Technical Leadership
- Set technical direction and make architecture decisions for the team’s initiatives.
- Conduct code reviews and define engineering standards.
- Mentor engineers on cloud-native patterns, AI infrastructure, and platform engineering.
- Lead proof-of-concepts and technical assessments for new technologies.
- Evaluate build-vs-buy decisions aligned with organizational goals.
Collaboration and Communication
- Partner with stakeholders to align initiatives with business priorities.
- Act as subject matter expert in cloud and AI platform engineering during cross-functional planning.
- Produce architecture decision records, technical documentation, and runbooks.
Who are we looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years in cloud/platform engineering
-
- AI/ML platforms: Hands-on with at least one — managed runtimes, LLM orchestration frameworks (LangGraph, LangChain, Strands, CrewAI), service registries, or model serving infrastructure.
- AWS (deep): IAM, ECR, Lambda, VPC, CloudWatch, X-Ray, Secrets Manager, KMS, API Gateway, Bedrock.
- Python: Production-grade — async patterns, SDK integrations, framework internals. Not scripting.
- Infrastructure as Code: Crossplane, Terraform, Pulumi, or equivalent. Declarative, GitOps-friendly patterns.
- CI/CD: GitHub Actions or equivalent. Multi-stage pipelines with security scanning, container builds, automated deployment.
- Containers & Kubernetes: Docker (multi-arch/ARM64), ECR, Kubernetes resource model.
