We are seeking a Senior Manager Data Governance to lead the design and implementation of enterprise data governance framework at the region and market level. In this role, you will ensure that the enterprise data governance framework is established and maintained to manage data effectively ensuring data integrity, security, discoverability, and availability of the company’s data assets. This position plays a pivotal role in advancing our data governance, analytics and digital transformation initiative. You will be responsible for establishing standards and practices to manage data effectively, collaborating across regions to promote and improve data quality, drive data governance initiatives, and foster a culture of data stewardship in the organization. By doing so, the Senior Manager Data Governance helps the organization leverage its data to drive informed decision-making and enhance operational efficiency.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Experience in Data Governance, Data Management Disciplines, and Data Architecture
  • Familiarity with technical foundations, SQL, metadata, quality, and automation solutions
  • Familiarity with metadata modeling, reference and master data architecture, and data quality frameworks.
  • Ability to design and implement a comprehensive data governance framework, including policies, standards and procedures to ensure structured approach to enterprise data assets
  • Ability to lead data governance initiatives, facilitate data governance council meetings, and provide guidance to data owners, stewards, and subject matter experts.
  • Experience with data quality assessments, data quality controls and improvements initiatives  
  • Solid knowledge of data related regulations and standards (e.g. GDPR, Compliance etc.)
  • Solid understanding of business processes led by respective data domains; how data platforms can streamline business processes; and data architecture, databases and storage solutions as well as data governance tools and technologies
  • Experience in leading cross-functional and globally diverse teams or participating in cross-functional and global projects, initiatives
  • Effective communication with diverse stakeholders, building and leveraging standardized reporting
  • Change management experience – especially to address resistance to change to ensure smooth transition and sustained adoption of the new rules, processes and practices
  • Problem solving capabilities

HOW CAN YOU MAKE HISTORY WITH US?

Data Governance Framework Developer:

  • Define and implement data ownership and stewardship roles and responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive data governance and data quality policies & practices for respective data domains, including data catalogs, data processes and flows, and data consumption (including regular audits, validation, and cleansing processes)
  • Develop and maintain data governance metrics and reporting mechanism
  • Identify and protect sensitive information from unauthorized access and beaches
  • Implement data quality improvement initiatives
  • Drive AI Data Readiness initiatives within the regions

Cross-Functional Collaborator:

  • Collaborate with D&A teams to ensure the strategic business goals & data expectations are met, including identification of data owners and stewards
  • Work closely Global Process and Data Owners to ensure data governance requirements are integrated into business processes objectives
  • Provide training & support on data governance practices to governance teams and business stakeholders
  • Stay updated with evolving data regulations and industry standards, incorporating compliance requirements into data policies & standards to avoid legal penalties and maintain stakeholder's trust
  • Identify and manage dependencies between data governance, data life cycle and business processes
  • Promote a data culture within PMI
