About the team and ideal candidate:
The Data Insights & Analytics (DI&A) team is responsible for transforming Philip Morris into a company where decision-making process is driven by data.
As part of this team, we are looking for a Principal Enterprise Data Architect that is deeply knowledgeable about building and delivering data architectures to define our enterprise data model and support delivery of analytics data products, master data management and metadata management solutions for the organization. As part of this role, you will help to design and architect business and technical data models that deliver standard and customized (where necessary) solutions for different functional data domains: the Consumer domain, Research and Development / Product Quality domains.
Additionally, you serve as a liaison among business partners, technical resources, and project stakeholders to ensure data requirements are adequately modeled to meet desired business outcomes.

To succeed, you will need a healthy mix of strategic thinking, deep hands-on experience of modern data architecture practices deployed on the cloud and a sound understanding of the various best practices and current trends in the data architecture domain.
The preferred candidate is ideally a DAMA certified architect who can work closely with several IT stakeholder teams in a collaborative manner to ensure the proposed data architecture meets the underlying needs of the Consumer and Product Quality areas.
The day-to-day responsibilities are to be carried out against the primary backdrop of both global and local transactional and ERP systems with a cloud-based advanced analytics platform also part of this ecosystem. These are supported by state-of-the-art technologies (Matillion, DBT, Snowflake, AWS cloud services including Sagemaker, EMR) and agile methodologies (SAFe, Scrum) enabling key transformation initiatives.
You will support our transformation by bringing FMCG/Retail commercial awareness, B2C/B2B digital strategy, marketing and sales strong business processes understanding.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Design and maintain enterprise-wide data architecture frameworks, standards, and data models across Consumer, R&D, and Product Quality domains
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into scalable conceptual, logical, and physical data models
- Define and govern enterprise data models to ensure consistency, quality, accessibility, and alignment with business objectives
- Architect modern cloud-based analytics solutions leveraging Snowflake, AWS services, DBT, Matillion, and other data platform technologies
- Lead data architecture workshops with business and IT teams to identify design patterns, integration requirements, and solution roadmaps
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, Data Engineers, and Analytics teams to ensure alignment with enterprise technology strategy
- Evaluate existing data landscapes, identify architecture gaps, and recommend improvements that support evolving business needs and digital transformation initiatives
- Guide agile delivery teams operating within Scrum and SAFe frameworks, ensuring architecture standards are incorporated into analytics and data product development
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship on best practices
SKILLS & CAPABILITIES:
- Masters in Computer Sciences, Information Management, or any similar field requiring architecture and analytics
- Minimum 5-10 years of data architecture experience in a cloud-based environment delivering large scale technology projects in an international company and environment
- Good knowledge of Business Intelligence and Big Data ecosystems (S3, Scala, Spark)
- Experience with Snowflake, PowerBI, and modeling tools (SqlDbm, SAP PowerDesigner, E/R studio, Erwin...)
- Experience with Scrum methodology and/or following an agile approach of Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills from a business perspective, applying agile to large organizations through SAFe methodology
- Knowledge of data modeling tools and methodologies (Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault)
- Design data analytics solutions from classic data warehousing data lake to big data solutions and hybrid platforms considering cloud and on prem
- Strong cloud technology background & knowledge of Data Architecture design principles
- Proven experience of leading workshops to identify design/architecture patterns and solid understanding of backend integration technologies
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate technical complexities into business-friendly language using both conceptual and logical thinking
- Strategic ability to relate the current technology and application landscape to the evolving business needs and identify the data architecture gaps
- Experience working with broader architecture community (Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, AI and Analytics Architects)
- Fluent in English
