Joining PMI Tech Operations and R&D

Within IT, the PMI Tech Operations and R&D team is an experienced, nimble & expert team composed of multiple sub streams. The main purpose of the team is to lead the digital strategy and transformation of Operations and Products functions through effective business partnering and conceptualizing, delivering and supporting state of the art and secure IT technologies across the end-to-end value chain.

When you join this team, you will work closely with the PMI Tech Operations and R&D leadership team and critical business stakeholders as a trusted technology partner to embed continuous innovation, work at speed and scale, develop your career in numerous directions in line with your aspirations and in a truly international and diverse context.

What’s the purpose of this role?

This role has two primary accountabilities:

  1. contract & procurement governance for PMI Tech Operations and R&D
  2. building AI/analytics capabilities that enhance the PPS team decision areas.

We are seeking a Manager Governance to strengthen platform-wide contract visibility, governance, and data-driven decision‑making across PMI Tech Operations. This role builds the single source of truth for contracts, enables proactive vendor and renewal management, and delivers AI-powered insights for procurement and wider PMI Tech Operations (e.g., service delivery, vendor performance, risk, renewals, financial visibility) to support IT’s ambition to operate as an intelligent, predictive, and value‑driven function. The individual will help transform procurement as well as financial and tool oversight into a strategic capability - enhancing compliance, cost efficiency, and supplier performance transparency while aligning with PMI’s data‑driven, AI‑enabled IT vision.

Your day-to-day

Core Accountability #1: Procurement, Contract & Vendor Governance

  • Contract & Vendor Management

    • Establish and maintain the central database of all platform contracts.
    • Track expiries, renewals, and key dates; proactively flag gaps or risks.
    • Coordinate with Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Service Managers, and PMs to collect contract requirements and maintain accuracy.
    • Maintain updated lists of top spenders, suppliers, renewal timelines, and contract archetypes

  • Governance & Process

    • Set up and run the platform procurement governance forum, ensuring a predictable cadence and action follow‑ups.
    • Ensure adherence to procurement guidelines, compliance rules, and sourcing requirements (without owning corporate procurement processes).

  • Reporting & Communication

    • Deliver regular leadership reports on contract visibility, expiries, risks, and supplier performance.
    • Communicate upcoming renewal needs and ensure stakeholders take timely action.

Core Accountability #2 – across PPS team topics: AI, Analytics & Automation Enablement

  • Dashboards, Analytics & AI

    • Build dashboards showing contract lifecycle status, renewal pipeline, supplier performance and spending trends.
    • Use AI tools for contract analysis (risk identification, renewal alerts, anomaly detection).
    • Produce insights and recommendations for supplier optimization, cost savings, or renegotiation opportunities.
    • Identify and implement cross-domain opportunities for AI/automation across PMI Tech Operations (not limited to procurement), and partner with relevant teams to pilot and scale solutions.
    • Develop reusable data products and metrics that support broader PMI Tech Operations visibility (e.g., run/service cost drivers, demand signals, operational risk indicators, financial flags, capabilities, etc).
    • Apply AI techniques to improve decision-making across vendor/service performance, forecasting, and risk—not only contract analysis.

Where we See This Role Going

  • As we transition to more AI‑enabled, insight‑driven supplier management, this individual will analyze contract, spend, and supplier performance data to inform strategic decisions.
  • You will grow our contract analytics and dashboarding capabilities and become a central enabler of Procurement & Vendor Governance strategy.
  • You will also have the opportunity to shape automated reporting, enhance contract lifecycle intelligence, and introduce predictive alerts for risks and renewals.
  • We expect this role to expand as our sourcing maturity increases — requiring curiosity, continuous learning, and readiness to adopt new tools and technologies to keep the platform agile and compliant.

Who are we looking for?

  • Customer‑oriented and able to translate complex contract data into clear insights.
  • A facilitator who brings structure and governance to diverse stakeholders.
  • A problem solver with strong analytical and data‑driven thinking.
  • A learner with appetite for AI, automation, and modern data tools.
  • A coordinator who ensures follow‑through and clarity across teams.
  • A communicator comfortable engaging across procurement, technical, and leadership groups.
  • Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivots, vlookups).
  • PowerQuery / Power BI dataset building & dashboarding.
  • Understanding of procurement, contract lifecycle, vendor management.
  • Experience with contract archetypes and governance models.
  • AI literacy and experience for contract analysis, automation, predictive insights.
  • Data modelling and analytics mindset.
  • High drive, proactive follow‑up, strong coordination skills.
  • Clear communication with diverse audiences.
  • Stakeholder management & influence skill
