Join our IoT Platform team to build scalable cloud services for connected devices and real-time operations, contributing to PMI’s smoke-free future. Bring your AWS and Python expertise and explore practical AI applications, whether you have hands-on experience or a strong interest in learning.

Impact You’ll Own

• Build reliable, scalable backend services for connected devices and real-time data.
• Strengthen platform security, maintainability, and delivery quality through sound AWS and Python engineering.
• Turn AI experimentation into practical, responsible improvements to engineering workflows and product capabilities.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build Python services, APIs, and microservices with architects and fellow engineers.
• Deliver secure, scalable AWS solutions supporting IoT data streams and event-driven architectures.
• Improve CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and code quality for reliable releases.
• Explore AI-assisted coding, review, testing, and documentation, and share useful practices with the team.
• Evaluate Generative AI services, such as AWS Bedrock, for workflows and product capabilities, with appropriate security and privacy guardrails.
• Lead technical discussions, support fellow engineers, and translate business requirements into maintainable solutions.

Skills & Capabilities

• Strong hands-on Python and AWS experience, with proven backend engineering experience.
• Solid understanding of software design, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, code quality, and observability.
• Hands-on AI experience or a strong interest in exploring and applying AI in software development.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to guide technical discussions.
• A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent background.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Node.js.
• Experience with IoT, real-time data, or event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, GitOps, SAFe/Agile, or AI tools such as Copilot and AWS Bedrock.
