Labor Relations Business Partner (People & Culture)
Location: Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico
The Role
At PMI, we are transforming our business! Our People & Culture team plays a critical role in making it happen.
We are looking for a Labor Relations Business Partner who can partner closely with the business to drive strategic people initiatives, shape a productive and compliant work environment, and support organizational transformation in a dynamic manufacturing setting.
In this role, you will combine business partnering, customer management, and labor strategy to ensure not only compliance, but also sustainable employee relations, strong culture, and business performance.
Key Responsibilities
Business Partnering & Strategy
- Partner with senior leaders to translate business priorities into people strategies and action plans
- Shape and evolve a forward-looking labor relations strategy aligned with transformation and cultural priorities
- Anticipate risks and opportunities in the labor environment with a proactive, not reactive, approach
Labor Strategy & Employee Relations
- Lead and coordinate labor-related processes, including collective agreements, organizational changes, and customer consultations
- Build and sustain constructive, transparent, and compliant relationships with employee representatives
- Ensure full alignment with Mexican labor legislation and PMI’s strict compliance and integrity standards
Partner Management & Leadership Coaching
- Influence and align multiple partners in a complex, matrix organization
- Coach leaders on employee relations, people management, and organizational effectiveness
- Enable leadership capability to navigate labor and cultural dynamics effectively
Broader People & Culture Agenda
- Contribute beyond labor relations to broader People & Culture priorities (e.g. engagement, organizational health, capability building)
- Support key transformation and culture initiatives within the plant
Who We’re Looking For
Experience
- 5–7 years of experience in HR Business Partnering, Employee Relations, or HR Generalist roles
- Exposure to unionized environments is a strong plus
- Experience in manufacturing or sophisticated operational environments preferred
Skills & Capabilities
- Proven ability to operate autonomously, prioritize, and manage complexity
- Strategic mindset with ability to connect business needs with people implications
- High level of integrity and ethical judgment, with strict adherence to compliance standards
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence senior leaders
- Ability to operate across a broad People & Culture agenda, beyond labor relations
- High level of self-awareness and learning agility
Language
- Fluency in Spanish and English is required
