Your ‘day to day’:
Plan and manage assets in a cost-effective way, ensuring optimal equipment availability and reliability through assets’ life cycle by developing and implementing of proper maintenance strategies, procedures and routines with focus to assets and maintenance performance in order to meet company objectives in compliance with applicable standards and policies / procedures contributing to continuous improvement culture.

 

Major accountabilities:

  • Develop and improve proactive, cost-effective maintenance strategies based on suitable techniques and procedures. Keep these strategies up to date to enhance equipment availability, reliability, maintainability, safety, and product quality.
  • Identify the most frequent causes of machine downtimes and develop substantial solutions to eliminate or significantly reduce these downtimes, thereby improving overall productivity.
  • Ensure maintenance planning and scheduling to increase the ratio of proactive (planned) work versus reactive (unplanned) work. This helps fulfill the production plan and ensures timely and proper implementation, fully complying with customer needs, safety norms, quality requirements, and cost objectives. Follow up on the machine standardization plan linked to process improvements and keep it updated.
  • Develop and budget annual maintenance plans in collaboration with maintenance supervisors and the production manager. Ensure these plans are implemented properly and on time.
  • Assess the reliability of existing equipment that is difficult, costly, or risky to maintain and recommend appropriate actions. Identify opportunities to design out maintenance activities where conventional reliability and maintenance activities are not cost-effective.
  • Define spare parts requirements and establish minimum and maximum stock levels for all equipment. Assist in preparing the budget for spare parts, consumables, and small equipment. Ensure that spare parts consumption aligns with the approved budget.
  • Coordinate with the production and engineering departments to prepare technical specifications for new machinery purchases. Review and authorize documentation related to new machinery to ensure it meets best practices for equipment, work ergonomics, and business needs.
  • Integrate new equipment, conduct necessary risk assessments, and provide input for preparing related documentation to fully comply with legislation and internal procedures.
  • Find, implement, and monitor proposed improvements related to equipment.
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement decision-making process, in line with the Change Management process.

 

Who we’re looking for:

  • College Degree in Mechanical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of relevant experience in maintenance and asset management.
  • Proficiency in SAP.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
