-

As a Process Engineer, Consumables in the Innovation Development Center, you will be the technical contact for prototyping activities related to Snus and Nicotine Pouch innovation projects. You will act as a domain expert by designing experimental plans, leading the prototype production lifecycle, and developing or adapting equipment to support new or complex manufacturing needs. You will collaborate closely with R&D, Quality, EHS, Manufacturing, and technicians to ensure robust, safe, and right-first-time prototyping execution.

Beyond project delivery, you will build process knowledge by translating experimental findings into technical understanding, identifying key process drivers, and continuously improving prototyping processes and equipment performance.

You will support scale-up and industrialization by assessing process transferability across equipment, defining operating principles, and partnering with manufacturing teams on trials and production campaigns to implement new products and processes successfully.

YOUR ‘DAY TO DAY’

  • Act as SME to design experimental plans and identify optimal processing approaches for specific substrates and formulations, working hand-in-hand with technicians, R&D, and manufacturing teams.
  • Lead the full prototype production lifecycle, from early feasibility discussions to on-floor execution, ensuring appropriate documentation including batch records, trial protocols, risk assessments, and technical reporting.
  • Generate process knowledge by analyzing experimental outcomes, identifying critical process parameters, and translating findings into technical recommendations and standard methodologies.
  • Support industrial trials and production campaigns, collaborating closely with manufacturing teams to assess process robustness, capture findings, and facilitate successful scale-up of new products and processes.
  • Develop custom setups, adapt existing equipment, or coordinate the sourcing of additional machinery to support new activities or enable complex prototypes.
  • Analyze equipment and process performance through data analysis, troubleshooting, root cause investigations, and KPI monitoring to drive continuous improvement of prototyping lines.
  • Collaborate with EHS to ensure full compliance with equipment and processes, supporting risk evaluations and maintaining the highest operational safety standards.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR -
