Roles & Objectives 

As an Intern you will be part of our Operational Excellence (OPEN+) Department for Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna S.p.A. and will be reporting to OPEN+ Deployment Lead. The position will be based in Bologna. 

We are seeking a motivated and dataoriented Operational Excellence Intern to join our team. In this role, you will support various projects aimed aimed to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in operational excellence and contribute to meaningful projects. 

Key Responsibilities: 

In your role you will support the deployment of OPEN+ across the factory in line with PMI OPEN+ Strategy.  

A key responsibility will be to analyze current business processes, assess the opportunities for the improvements, prepare a proper plan to implement the enhancements, monitor the execution via data analysis and reporting.  

You will also have an opportunity to learn about standard work processes, act as a trainer and coach on the production floor. 

 

Specific Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in analyzing current operational processes and identifying inefficiencies. 

  • Support the development and implementation of process improvement initiatives. 

  • Collaborate with team members to gather data and generate reports. 

  • Participate in meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions. 

  • Help monitoring the progress of ongoing projects and providing updates. 

  • Support manufacturing department through specific Coaching sessions on Lean tools 

 

 

 

 

Who we’re looking for  

 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). 

  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to a dynamic team environment. 

  • Good command of the English language.
