Roles & Objectives

 

As an Intern you will be part of our Manufacturing Engineering team within the "Engineering Solutions" team for Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna S.p.A and will be reporting to one of our Substrates Engineering Leads. The position will be based in Crespellano, Bologna.

You will join Engineering Solutions and work in close collaboration with Operations Central functions and our RRP (Reduced Risk Product) factories in Philip Morris International. This team will be acting as the driver for any tobacco processing and consumable manufacturing equipment. You'll be working together with a mix of talents in engineering, science, technology, QA and planning. 

 

 

Specific Responsibilities:

 

  • Contribute to Manufacturing Engineering projects;

  • Manage a small project autonomously from process mapping to final report;

  • Apply engineering methodologies and tools to identify opportunities to improve process performance;

  • Support the team in analysing data, prepare conclusions and make recommendation;

  • Write regular reports on root cause analysis and how it can help to improve processes;

  • Be an active member of the team, join regular progress review meetings and present findings and results.

 

 

Who we’re looking for: 

 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical).
  • Strong analytical and quantitative mindset with a demonstrated ability to interpret and leverage data to gain insights;  
  • Good understanding of data, ability to process raw data and derive insights from data analysis;
  • Ability to explain complex research in easy language;
  • Ability to understand complex process and explain in simple words;
  • Self-starter with ability to quickly ramp up on new tools and technologies;
  • Interested in developing/designing with suppliers equipment modules / test equipment;
  • Good interpersonal skills, to engage quickly in cross-functional and external environment;
  • Previous knowledge/experience in process engineering would be a plus;
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English and Italian is a must, interviews may be carried out in Italian or English;
  • Ability to travel in Europe
