Role & Objectives

As an Intern, you will be part of our Quality Center of Expertise in Continuous Improvement Stream (Q-CoE CI) at Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna S.p.A., based in Crespellano (BO), and you will report to the Senior CoE Quality Engineer.

In this role, you will join a team responsible for driving the end-to-end process of eliminating product quality losses (e.g. out-of-specification products, consumer complaints) across Smoke-Free Product categories.

You will operate in a multicultural and cross-functional environment, applying structured problem-solving methodologies and contributing to business results in full compliance with PMI standards, including the Quality Management System and Integrated Manufacturing System.

 

Specific Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of the Quality Management System, with a focus on product and process monitoring procedures.
  • Participate in product continuous improvement drumbeats (daily, weekly, and monthly) with affiliates and central stakeholders, gaining exposure to technical topics and cross-functional workflows.
  • Support Q-CoE CI team members in data preparation and analysis for root cause identification related to product quality losses and associated reporting.
  • Collaborate with the broader product continuous improvement community in the implementation of defined actions and improvement initiatives.

 

Who we’re looking for

  • University degree in Science and/or Engineering, or equivalent skills gained through demonstrated experience.
  • Intermediate IT skills, particularly in PowerPoint, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Fluent Italian and good knowledge of English, both written and spoken.
  • Proactive attitude, willingness to learn in a dynamic environment, and openness to applying different tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis, statistical tools, and manufacturing processes is considered a plus.
