Roles & Objectives

As an Intern you will be part of our IT Operations Platform in the IT Engineering Department for Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna S.p.A. and will be reporting to the IT Project Manager Industrialization. The position will be based in Bologna.

In your role, you will collaborate with central IT teams (IT Corporate, IT Ops, IT Infrastructure, IS Quality, Engineering Solutions) and manufacturing affiliates (both business & IT), having the opportunity to participate in industrialization initiatives to further expand our Smoke-Free Products strategy.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Analyze and document existing operating models, workflows, and system dependencies;

• Work closely with IT and business teams to map process interactions and identify optimization opportunities;

• Support impact assessments of new industrialization initiatives on existing IT & Digital systems;

• Assist in the development of clear, structured documentation for process impacts and system integrations;

• Collaborate with stakeholders to capture requirements and translate them into actionable insights.

Who we’re looking for: 

• Currently pursuing a degree in IT, Business Process Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field;

• Basic understanding of IT systems, databases, and process mapping is a plus;

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, or similar tools) for documentation and analysis;

• Curious and analytical mindset with a strong interest in understanding how systems and processes work;

• Fluency in both written and spoken English and Italian is a must, interviews may be carried out in Italian or English;

• Good communication skills to document and explain complex processes clearly.
