Roles & Objectives

As an intern, you will be part of our Bay 1 Department at Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna S.p.A. / Philip Morris Italia, reporting to the Process Support Supervisor. The position will be based in Bologna.

You will support processes aimed at eliminating losses through effective problem‑solving and process control, contributing to the business results of the assigned RRP lines and fully applying the Integrated Manufacturing System (IMS) and PMI standards and policies.

You will act as a process supporter in problem solving and on‑floor troubleshooting, and as a contributor in leading and ensuring autonomous/self‑sufficient team compliance with all standard OPEN+ systems and tools according to the requirements of the Equipment Line Pillars step and Site Phase.

 

Specific Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all PMI and legal standards, policies, and guidelines related to Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability, in order to prevent personnel, asset or societal loss.
  • Contribute to the DMS process to ensure proper deployment and maximize product quality.
  • Participate in Daily Direction Setting (DDS) to be trained on inputs and actions related to loss‑elimination activities and tasks.
  • Contribute to promoting and validating Kaizens raised by teams by performing adequate risk assessments.
  • Support loss‑elimination priorities, plans and responsibilities to ensure cross‑functional alignment. Share knowledge and methods to encourage benchmarking, reapplication and continuous improvement.
  • Take responsibility for completing your training plan and comply with the requirements established in the Qualification Matrix.
  • Cooperate with Line Leads to implement standard work processes defined in the Pillars (AM steps, quality factors, problem‑solving SWP, etc.).

 

Who We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Management).
  • Intermediate IT skills (Office Suite).
  • Fluent in English.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, and to engage with multi‑functional stakeholders.
